Hey, did you look up these lyrics on Google because most do not know this band?

Dragonette, you will be surprised at the musical knowledge you'll find here. Now here's an old one. Google as much as you like, I bet you won't get it:

"When I see your pretty smile
Makes the living worth the while,
So I've got to run around
Telling people what I've found."

I'm a good googler.. .*LOL*

ok.. you all might have to fire up your google machines for this one, cuz I'm not sure if it's been released or not, but I love the lyrics... plus, I've been plugging these guys for about a month, cuz I think they're awesome...

If you can feel this feeling that I'm feeling
Like standing for the first time
Before that I was kneeling
Mom said it best "you gotta talk to him"
Now I gotta do the rest, I gotta walk to him
He said....."Ain't nobody gonna hold you down"
He said....."I'm gonna give you all a brand new sound"
He said....."Ain't nobody gonna break-a your stride

Dunno but I bet Michael Buble has something to do with it.

Indirectly, they opened for Michael Buble when I saw him in Ottawa

I did check, and the lyrics to the song are on several lyrics sites, and the song is on youtube

Riki, something in the back of my brain has been rumbling over this tune. I think it's an oldie written by the Australian group "Men At Work" and called "Ain't Nothing Gunna Hold Me Down". Who played it at the Buble gig?

I'll put you out of your misery,Riki. It's "What I'm Looking 4. (No Mountain High Enough)."

BUT Have a look at the lyrics of the 'Men At Work' song I mentioned earlier. Some of the lines are clearly stolen from it.

Last night I had the strangest dream,
I sailed away to China in a little rowboat to find you
And you said you had to get your laundry cleaned
Didn't want no one to hold you, what does that mean?

And you said
Ain't nothing gonna break my stride
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Oh no, I've got to keep on moving
Ain't nothing gonna break my stride
I'm running and I won't touch ground
Oh no, I've got to keep on moving

You're on the road and now you pray you'll last
The road behind you was rocky
But now you're feeling cocky
You look at me and you'll see your past
Is that the reason you're running so fast?

And she said
Ain't nothing gonna break my stride
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Oh no, I've got to keep on moving
Ain't nothing gonna break my stride
I'm running and I won't touch ground
Oh no, I've got to keep on moving

Never let another girl like you, whip me over
Never let another girl like you, drag me under
If I meet another girl like you, I will tell her
Never want another girl like you, have to say

Ain't nothing gonna break my stride
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Oh no, I've got to keep on moving
Ain't nothing gonna break my stride
I'm running and I won't touch ground
Oh no, I've got to keep on moving

Ain't nothing gonna break my stride
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Oh no, I've got to keep on moving
Ain't nothing gonna break my stride
I'm running and I won't touch ground
Oh no, I've got to keep on moving

Ain't nothing gonna break my stride
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Oh no, I've got to keep on moving
Ain't nothing gonna break my stride
I'm running and I won't touch ground
Oh no, I've got to keep on moving

OK. Now an easy one:

"The canals and the bridges, the embankments and cuts,
They blasted and dug with their sweat and their guts
They never drank water but whiskey by pints
And the shanty towns rang with their songs and their fights."

Google says "navigator" by the Pogues.
Two hits call it "navigator" and some others call it
"The canals and the bridges, the embankments and cuts"

There's no pride in a google-answer though is there?

Using Dr Google is fine, Nat. And, yes, it is 'Navigator' by The Pogues. It's from their wonderful 'Rum, Sodomy, and the Lash' album.

Over to you, Nat.

I met my love by the gas works wall
Dreamed a dream by the old canal
kissed my girl by the factory wall.

Bloody hell! Here I am, holding things up again. Here's a Stoday special -

"Keep smiling through, just like you always do
Till the blue skies chase the dark clouds far away
Now, won't you please say "Hello" to the folks that I know
Tell them it won't be long
'cause they'd be happy to know that when you saw me go
I was singing this song"

Oh! I think I know this one. Ending of Dr. Strangelove....

Is the title We'll Meet Again? I've no idea who sings it, though.
