In-center hemodialysis since 1982--28 YEARS on March 3, 2010 !!

No transplant.  Not yet, anyway.  Just listed 11/9/06    ;)
Work full time.  I make films.

Just the facts: 76 kgs. (about 167 lbs.)
4.5 hours   3x/wk
800 dialysate flow    400 blood pump
Fresenius Optiflux-180 filter--without reuse
Fresenius 2008K dialysis machine
My KDOQI (+/ -):  2,660 Calories, 91 grams Protein per day.

GFR 18% and 2.8 creatinine - qualify for UNOS May 28, 2010, but awaiting acceptance
Sister tested for donation compatability June 2010 - ABO-match, 0/6 antigens, Crossmatch-compatible
Brother tested for donation compatability June 2010 - ABO-match, 3/6 antigens, Crossmatch-compatable
Sister started eval. process in August, apparently they only test one potential donor at a time...  She needs to lose weight.
GFR 15-16% and 3.2 creatinine - July 2010
Brother starting eval process....
Let's get the show on the road!

That is great news indeed!!

I know I was feeling very tired at that creatinine level but it has to be better than dialysis.  I pray that the brave little kidney continues to improve!!

AV fistula (radiocephalic) placed September 24, 2009
Began transplant evaluation November 11, 2009
Completed transplant eval and approved for transplant February 10, 2010
Received confirmation letter I am on the UNOS list February 18, 2010
Wife began donor testing March 1, 2010
Received living donor preemptive transplant from spouse July 22, 2010
