TAMAQUA, Pa. -- Last week, we brought you the story of John Nakata, the 37-year-old man who's dying of kidney failure.

On the advice from his doctors, the Schuylkill County man and his family made a plea on YouTube for help.

The response has been enormous. (Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kv-LOtXI07c )

John's wife, Sherry, read a sampling of e-mails they've received from people who saw their story.

"I saw your YouTube video and looking to help anyway I can," read one letter.

"I've given blood so many times, so I'm in good health," read another.

"I'm willing to donate my kidney," stated another letter.

The Nakatas have received more than 60 e-mails from people all over the country, writing to help John.

"I'm a 26-year-old man from New Jersey," read one letter.

Calls, support, and offers have been pouring in.

Sherry said ABC's "Good Morning America" even contacted them.

"You read some of these e-mails and there are so many wonderful people from all over," said Sherry.

A week ago, we aired John's story. He is suffering from kidney failure. Without a matching donor, he said his doctors have given him two years to live.

Running out of options and time, the family made a YouTube plea for a donor.

Since last week, nearly 2,000 people have seen the video.

"Gave me hope," said John. "Gave me lots of hope."

Hope John said will give him a chance to watch his five-year-old son grow up.

"Means the world to me," said John. "Any day I can spend with my son means the world to me."

A possible donor is being tested.

July 29 is the couple's 15th wedding anniversary. It's a day that now might not seem so bittersweet.
