I found the "Las Vegas" thread and read some posts.
Will there be a LV meeting this year?
Or next year? HA
I am extremely financially challenged so I would need to save up WAY ahead of time. haha

I wasn't sure where I should post this...hope it's ok to post it here.

We had hoped to do a meeting this year but many of us are in similar financial situations so it's been on hold for now.

Paris:

I desperately need to be at a meet up this year!  I need to see some of my friends again soon!  Las Vegas, LA, or San Antonio are all great.   I did like where we stayed in Vegas because those who couldn't get around easily could still have all of Freemont Street to explore.  And I will always see Goofynina walking through the casino with her tiara and boa.  I was sitting with Jill Dimmitt and turned to see Goofynina make her entrance. What a sight!    I believe we choose October because it gave people a 3 day weekend with Columbus day.  This year is would be Oct 8,9 and 10th.

I don't care where we meet.  Shall we start getting an idea who wants to go where and get the ball rolling?  Some of us need to save up a little for this.           I'm already excited

Never been to either place, but the last time I planned to go to a meet, something gets in the way. I might just show up on a whim.

Well if it might be in Califonia, that would be great since Virgin Airlines is going to fly out of Chicago and offering $77 dollar flights

CA could work for me. Hey it's a 15 hour flight from Melbourne vs. 15 hours plus another hour to get to Vegas  :rofl; Either way makes little difference!! As long as I have a hot date(or four) at the end of it... it's all good!!  :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :waving; :urcrazy;

Hi Marc,- not sure if you meant to leave a post with mine.  I noticed you highlighted 8,9 and 10.  Isn't that Columbus Day weekend?  It looks like it on my calendars. I'm a little confused (happens often!!)  so let me know if I have done something or if my post is wrong.  Thanks Marc  Oh I did notice I put is instead of it. Must have forgotten spell check.

ok mods, get together and decide if we're going to do this sometime later this year. i was extremely disappointed when the last one was cancelled. no i admit i was one who had said i couldn't afford to go, but i also admit that if i had already bought my ticket i would have been extremely.....well yes. even my daughter has asked if there is something this year. apple and i had so much fun with everyone. especially with bajanne and llilbajanne. and then to find bajanne was my secret santa, well that just made my year. i fully admit i get a big green streak of jealousy when i read that okarol and kit katz have met up for lunch. i so want to go too. we might even have the time to manage to drive this year. i just love road trips. at least until they've started.......so let's make a plan, stan.........i'll even help

Thanks Marc!!  I told you I am confused a lot!!  But now it is because I think too much and not because I am full of toxins!  That's my story..........

I agree, Grammalady, admin and mods needs to talk and set a date.  I mentioned the Oct dates based on what the first two meet ups were.  I'll volunteer to help too.       Another thought about Vegas is how easy it is to get to and from the airport and to all the Casinos on the strip.   Any one have more suggestions, thoughts?

I'm also on the need to save list!  So, I'll just start putting my pennies away and assume we will  get together.  Kelly, are you saving too?

Question for those who have been on D - my kidneys are failing at a faster rate then they have before.  On/around Dec 1st, gfr was 19.  Now it is 14.  I know I need to get my fistula access placed (I just can't see myself doing PD - to me, it sounds like pure hell).  My question is, if D starts for me around the time of this trip, would it be feasible for me to go?  How far ahead does one have to plan for the D appointment?  Will I feel like too much crap to even want to go?  My neph likes to start D at 10%.  So far, I'm still feeling okay.  I work 10 hr days lately, because I want to pay things down, and I do okay with that.  Ideas?

social workers like to know as soon as you do that you're planning on traveling. in actuality they can't finalize arrangements till 30 days before you plan on traveling. since i buy any plane tickets 90 to 60 days before i go anywhere i just tell her then, give her the dates of travel and when i want dialysis and let her go from there. since i almost always use the same center (i'm always going to my family in oregon) i often deal directly with them after everything is pretty much set, they are usually willing to try to get me what would work best for me. but then we have a pretty good relationship.  i didn't do dialysis last time we were in vegas. we left denver after a friday morning dialysis and i was back in town for my monday session. there were people who did though and i don't remember hearing that they had any problems. it's not difficult in an area that caters to tourists. it's hard to say how you will feel, everyone is different.

paris, you and kelley better start saving, it wouldn't be the same without you guys. i miss both of you!!!!!!

Oh, I'm going for sure - no matter where it is!   :2thumbsup;     I want Paris to fly to S.A. and I'll meet up with her here and fly the rest of the way with her.  Then we can have some uninterupted visit time, and introduce our kidneys!
