Hi All,

Had my transplant 3 weeks ago. The change is amazing, I was very ill for the first two weeks (i blame hospital food >:D) but now I'm home and eating properly I feel much better. Creatinine is 77 (UK figures) Wow! That's like a normal person!!!!

My amazing husband left hospital after 3 days! He's a little tired but he's doing so well. I'm so proud of him.

Apparently the other recipients and donors in the 3 way kidney swap that we were part of are all doing well too.

It's so wonderful to not dialyse, after 4 years, 5 bouts of peritonitis, 2 bouts of pneumonia and a stroke not to mention blood clots and Oh well you guys all know the problems! I'm hoping that the kidney lasts a long time (obviously) but even if it doesn't these weeks off dialysis will be ones I will cherish.

Of course I'm not completely better, it's going to take a while (I reckon about a year) to get back to health, but eventually I hope to get back to work, go on HOLIDAY! Yay! Take my husband on the honeymoon he never had ( I had peritonitis the night before the wedding...) and not have to refuse when people ask me to jion them for celebrations because they live too far away...
I'll keeep you all updated on our progress!
love to you all and OKarol who PMed me.
