Gosh, that is one big surgery.  I hope he heals quickly.  Plus having to do dialysis on top of all this.

Thanks Yvonne, I know you are going through alot now with your hubbys heart attack. I hope he is doing well. Frank still has his right kidney so he hasn't started dialysis yet. When he heals from this surgery he will go in & have the kidney removed & then start D. How was your hubbys recovery. It has been 16 days now & he still has that leakage which is very painful (burning). He is moving around the house to & from bathroom, kitchen, bed & chair. Thanks for any info.

John as age 72 when he had all 3 removed leaving him with 11% of his kidney working, and he has only just gone on dialysis after 3 years. He came through the big operation really well, but took us ages to deal with the stoma.  It's a piece of cake now, but I deal with it for him so it's mine really.

The Stoma is pink intestine that comes out of his tummy making the new bladder, the whole word is Urostomy. I am in the UK so you might have another word for it. I'm pretty sure your husband has one if he has had the bladder removed.

Frank went into renal failure in June. The uerather was blocked with tumor so they put in a nephrostomy tube which the urine is collected in a bag. He will be having the other kidney out in a couple months after he heals from this surgery. How about the other kidney in John, does that have cancer? Are they planning on removal?
