Hello, My name is Trena
«

My name is Trena and I have ben on dilysis for 13 years as of March 25. I live in Perry, Kansas which is about 10 miles east of Topeka or 65 miles west of Kansas City. I dialyize at home through NxStage System One, from Kansas Dialysis Services in Topkea. I don't know why my kidneys failed. It was labeled glomerlonephritis but a biopsy was never performed, so who really knows.
I live with my parents because I have several other problems that prevent me from living on my own, uncle, 2 dogs (a boxer named Gracie May and a chihuahua named Olivia), and way too many cats (I onlyc laim three: Cuddles, Poo Poo, and Sally). I'm not employed and on disability, but I am currently attending classes online to get my Associate Degree in Medical Coding nad Billling, then my Bachelors in Health Servies Administration.

Trena. You're an old hand at the dialysis game and your experiences will be most welcome.

Hi Trena, it's nice to meet you. I'm relatively new here myself, but this looks to me to be a very nice place where you will be able to find a lot of support. I'm glad to hear you're trying to get your Bachelor's, that's great! How are you feeling overall? I'm actually on the board here because my wife is about to star dialysis, and we're sort of keen on trying Nxstage. Can you tell us anything about how it feels, or what your feelings are about Nxstage?

Welcome to the group, Trena. Lots of good information here, although it sounds like you probably don't need any, having been at this for a while!

Hi Trena! Good on you for taking online classes to get a degree! Another shining example of not allowing this disease to stop you. I'm looking forward to seeing your posts.
