I had My transplant Mar. 23 and three days later My creatinine was 132 and I was 6kg above My pre op dry weight. 19 days later my creatinine is the same and My weight is 2kg below my pre op dry weight. Sounds like your doing great. Best wishes. Ed  |

Thanks everyone. Dad had a couple beers lastnight so doing very well.
My creatinine is 97 a week out from surgery. Only a couple kg's over my pre op weight now so feeling really good.
The other night i only had 4 and half hours sleep and woke up fresh as a daisy on 'D' i'd get way more and still be tired, it's unreal.

Don't you just love those stockings? i got into so much trouble because i'd get really hot (cause of the ATG and the Tac) and kick them off.

3 weeks out from the op and feeling really good.
Next to nil side effects, on 25mg of pred in the morn, 210mg cyclosporin morn and night then 1000mg cellcept morn and night.
All up more than 30 pills a day at the moment.
So great being off "D". I have had a faultless run so far.
I think my daily transplant clinic visits will be decreased after 4 weeks. As that part is becoming a bit of a drag.
Anyways thats it for now.
Ps Dad is doing great

So happy about this (and yes, a tinge envious it must be said!). You must be relishing the energy, more normal diet and fluid intake allowed and all that, getting back on your bike and LIVING that all this is bringing. Yes, I am sure the clinic visits are a drag, but way less of a drag than hooking up to that machine every night I bet!
Keep up the good work - both you and dad!

Thought I'd wonder onto IHD and post an update. Seen the Nephrologist last week, 14 months since the transplant and everything is going fine. Blood levels all within range and creatinine at 115. No hiccups at all or hints of rejection have I experienced to date. So really I have been blessed. Current medication; 5mg Prednisolone morning 50mg Metoprolol morning 1000mg Mycophenolate morning & night 120mg Ciclosporin morning & night Sure beats plugging into a machine |

One of my docs said that at 75mg 2/day I was on a highish dose for 6 months post and they were thinking about dropping it to 50, but they haven't yet. I guess it just underlines we're all different. Whatever works huh? 115 is awesome!!  |

Yeah I know Rich, I was expecting to be on a lower cyclo dose by now. But the Docs are going by the level thats in my blood. I think everyones body excretes them differently and hospitals might have different protocols on levels and where they should be at a set amount of months post transplant. I've been on 120mg for so long now. Next time I'm at the clinic I'll note what the level is, I think last time it was 400 or 500 in my blood. Not too sure.... |

yeah those 2 hour post blood levels are important to keep in check - two high and it can damage the kidney... too low and you risk rejection - what joy! I've been stuck on 75mg twice daily for ages now the levels just stay around where they want it. I don't bother to ask anymore. I seem to handle the 75 ok - I've even lost most of the shakes, which was the worst symptom I got, though it does rear its ugly head from time to time.
As with all these things it's a balancing act and like you say everyone's body is different.
As long as your tx is doing OK that's the main thing!!
