Hi my name is Rebekah Pullin I am 25 years old and have been in the dialysis field for 6 years as of March 1st. I am an Ohio Certified Dialysis Technician. I am currently working in Hillsboro Ohio for Hillsboro Regional Dialysis. I have worked at Xenia,Ohio Wilmington, Ohio and also Chillicothi, Ohio in the last 6 year. My mom was always in and out of the hospital while growing up and in 05 she actually became a dialysis patient of mine I actually didn't even know she was starting until the second she walked thru the door. She since then has been on PD and Hemo and now she has passed as of Dec 21 2009. I am a very devoted patient care tech and found this site actually by accident while searching some other things due with dialysis the home page said people who also work in the field are welcome to join so I did. I love all my patients and care for them as if they were my relative, and I know that they all know this as well. I really just want to be on here to see if there is anything that I could learn from others about the care we give and how we could better it, but if it is offensive to anyone that I am on here I am really sorry and can not be on here if you prefer thanks
BECCA

We love it that you joined. We can learn from each other. I wish you would move to my clinic!
There are lots of topics to read about how we feel about our dialysis staff. Some good and some bad.
I'm glad you found us.

Becca. We don't have Dialysis Technicians here in Oz. (Registered Nurses fill the role.) But, if we did, you'd be first on my list! Stick around.

Goodness me Rebekah! Why would it be offensive to anyone that you're on here? No way!!! Good of you to join. It's always good to have someone from "the other side" to join in, maybe learn some things, share some other things with us(so we learn) and heck maybe even spread the word to your patients and colleagues if you think this is a cool place. I hope so anyway!
Welcome!

Sorry to hear about your mother.

Hi Rebekah,
I have a daughter named Rebekah and we spell it just like your mom spelled yours and she's from OH too! She lives here in FL now, with four of my reasons for life - my grandchildren! Good to have you, we can always use imput from someone like yourself.

We love for professionals in the field join IHD! We can all learn from each other. I am sorry about your mother. You can relate to your patients so much because of what you have experienced. My family is in the Columbus area, so when you mentioned the cities you have worked in, it made me homesick. Not many people know where Xenia is! Welcome to IHD

Hey Paris, was it the tornado that blew you down to NC? I was living in NC when that happened and I remember when I moved to OH they said debris was scattered all over the state from that. Talk about small towns, New London (pop about 2500), it's funny when I go there now the guy at the gas station remembers me and I haven't lived there since 1983! I've travelled all over the state of OH and there are plenty of small towns and villages. I love OH but the winters are just too cold for me, the other times of the year are great but that winter is just too much! Columbus not so bad, but being a 'M Go Blue' fan, too much O-H-I-O for me.
