Lady Bird is gone --- my husband found her after I went to dialysis -- she drown in the pool --
we don't know if she fell in or if her heart gave out and she wondered off into the pool area --
she was still in okay health and not in pain -- hopping around -- she thought she was a bunny -- but even so, the vet said it would not be long ---
my husband called me at dialysis and told me ---
last night she did not want to sleep in the house, she wanted out and this morning I thought she was in the far back part of the yard digging up something ---
I did not look out at the pool area ----- the polaris was wrapped around her --
I dont' think she just fell in the pool on accident --- she hadn't fallen in the pool in months --
she would have been a year in May --- she might have had 6 months left -- maybe not that long ---
Yogi is howling and crying ---
I am heart broken --
and Trasie will not understand when Lady Bird does not come in and play with her--- :'(

I am sorry to hear that.

I once had three dogs.  They are all gone now.  When the first one died,  I had no idea that dogs mourned the way they do.  My German shepherd howled at the moon every night for a few weeks and then she stopped.  She never did that before and she never did it again after those few weeks, but it was sooooo sad.  I would choke up and tear up ever time she did it.

I am sorry Twirl.  You gave Lady Bird so much love and attention.  You gave her a happy, loving home.  She was a lucky puppy to be part of your family.   I know you are all heart broken right now.   I am so very sorry.    :cuddle;

RAINBOW BRIDGE ....

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

thank you all and that is from the bottom of my heart
now is the time I let her outside and she would get a jumbo weiner for  a treat
I need to remember to treat Yogi as if Lady Bird was with him --
he stands in the pool water and howls and the water is freezing --

when my husband found Lady Bird -- Yogi stayed by the garage and did not move or bark or anything --
he was just frozen -- when I came home from dialysis he did not greet me -- hung his head ---
I know he must have tried to save her --- he will not let us swim without circling the pool and trying to rescue us--we have to put him in the garage to be able to go down the slide --- it freaks him out and he jumps in the pool and swims after us and tries to grab us to pull us out --
I need to remember that he is grieving as well

Dailysis patient for since 1999 and still kicking it strong.  I was called for a transplant but could not get it due to damage veins from extremely high blood pressure.  Have it under control now, on NxStage System but will receive dailysis for the rest of my life.  Does life sucks because of this.  ABOLUTELY NOT!  Life is what you make it good, bad, sick, or healthy.  Praise God I'm still functioning as a normal person just have to take extra steps.
