I wish .. for a beautiful wedding and a beautiful home ... why? because I doubt I will ever have anything nice in my life and I can wish for anything other than a kidney right?

I really really REALLY feel I will never have anything nice in my life and it really gets me down. I mean .. I never even had the chance to save up money and build a life for myself. It would be different if I had ever been healthy and then got sick but no such luck!  :banghead; :'(

Anyway, sorry if it sounds like I am feeling sorry for myself but the wedding I went to yesterday was so beautiful that it depressed me. plus everyone dancing with their loved ones while mine had to go back to the States .. ya I was depressed. I have a LOT I can wish for. But I don't think everyone wants to hear it all :p

angies - *hugs* to you...

I think we can all relate in one way or another to how you are feeling. The only thing I can say with regards to your wedding and life is that the most IMPORTANT thing is that you have people around you who love you (and you love). A fancy wedding, house, car and stuff.. that's all posessions and when it comes down to it doesn't REALLY matter. What matters is the people in your lives that are there for you, and you are there for them - in whatever ways that may be possible.

As for you saying you "will never have anything nice in your life" - I think the fact you have found that special someone you wish to spend the rest of your life with, and vice versa... that would seem a pretty nice thing to me. I think I found my someone, but she ended up with someone else who looks like she will marry in a few months (and I think it will be a disaster!).

I think because our health is one of our most important assets (I would value personal health above money) when we're sick the way we are it can cast a massive cloud over how we feel and react to things - specially when things restrict us so much in various ways. Clearly there's no magic solution but you CAN vent here!!!

again.. *hugs* offered...

I wish there was no such thing as "money".  Money has corrupted the human race in every way imaginable.  This includes separation of our societies according to the accumulation of wealth per each person, and this should not be.  Who eats and who goes hungry, who sleeps comfortably and who sleeps on the street, who lives and who dies, should not be determind by how much money we have.

Simplistic but true. My son always says the same thing and he's only 16. Why is it we can see this but politicians can't? I guess thats a discussion for another thread.

I would love to go around Africa with Bono (from U2) and do the relief work and public awareness stuff he is passionate about.  I think that would be really cool and very rewarding.

Something else I'd like to do is (once I have a nursing degree) is visit various countries and do relief work and health missions, like vaccinations, public health stuff, etc.

I'd quite like to go round Africa without that self serving publicity seeking self appointed voice of the world's conscience and New Labour toady known as Bono. ( Oh...and  why would anyone adopt a name to make them sound like a dog biscuit?)

    :lol;  Good one.

I wish for every animal shelter in the world to become a no kill shelter.

Please spay or neuter your pets & don't buy dogs or cats at a pet shop, go to a shelter & adopt or buy in person from a private breeder.

Lets put those cruel breeding farms out of business.

That's what I wish for.

Angie,  Richard is right.....you can have your dream.

All sorts of things have happened to me no least of all three days ago I tripped and stabbed my left nipple with a candlestick.  Ouch!!  But this time last year I was worried I wouldn't get a job because I had been sick and I thought I wouldn't get married as well.

I got a terrific job and I was married at Hamilton Island in July and had a fabulous wedding.  We are going on a delayed honeymoon in three weeks to the Maldives and then I start on dialysis when I return.  Twelve months ago I wouldn't have expected any of this.

And Richard......you still have three weeks to go get her.  My best friend got hers back two days before his scheduled wedding and now they are married with two kids. Anything is possible.  It doesn't have to be a dream.

If I could have a wish granted it would be that everyone didn't wait for their wish to be granted but went out and made their wish happen.

Something I try to live by...this is meant to be inspirational.

Some things are out of control in life, but try to apply this thought process and see how much more you can acomplish in life.  Make this your New Years resolution. As long as you give your all in everything you do, that is all you can do and you have to except whatever limitation you have.

Live life trying to make things happen, instead of dwelling on why you can't.

Thank you Madam Goofynina. I accept, but only if you will be my Vice President.

Then I will step down & make you president. You gal, are a born leader.

I love you for sharing my feelings.

There's a saying in the UK eg. 'More money than Soft Mick. More cars than Soft Mick, more homes than....... had more wives than........ So, if I could have a wish granted I'd like to be Soft Mick. Although there always seems to be someone who has more than him, by implication he must have lots and lots of everything!

At least he's doing something to publicize it.  I'll always like Bono for the work he does, the music of U2 and just because I think he's a genuine person with a good soul.  He doesn't seem to need publicity like some other stars who actively seek it out by getting into trouble or going pantyless in public. He doesn't get into drunken brawls or throw cell phones at hapless assistants, he doesn't wear a lot of bling and have an entourage of 50 hanging around him. I've liked U2 since the 70's when they first came out.  (Now I really feel OLD.)  I just don't understand why some people have such a hatred for him.  He is what he is.
