Well I just got a letter from my insurance company a couple days ago, and I got approved for transplant evaluation! Now the next steps are actually passing the evaluation and I think I will since I have no other health issues besides my kidneys, I don't even have diabetes! Also need to find a donor, I prefer a living donor but if I have to get one on the list that's ok too. Could I be the next one of I hate dialysis to get a transplant? Stay tooned to find out!

May 13, 2009, went to urgent care with shortness of breath
May 19, 2009, went to doctor for severe nausea
May 20, 2009, admited to hospital for kidney failure
May 20, 2009, started dialysis with a groin cath
May 25, 2009, permacath was placed
august 24, 2009, was suppose to have access placement but instead was admited to hospital for low potassium
august 25, 2009, access placement
January 16, 2010 thrombectomy was done on access

Fantastic.  Just remember the wheels seem to move awfully slowly - don't give up - keep pushing.

Diagnosed Nov 2007 with Multiple Myeloma.
By Jan 2008 was in end stage renal failure and on haemodialysis.
Changed to CAPD in April 2008.  Now on PD with a cycler.  Working very part time - teaching music.  Love it.  Husband is Paul (we're both 46), daughter Molly is 13.
