I had my face waxed the other day. The hair was out of control and I took drastic measures.  Oh boy that was an experience in itself.  Iyiyi!  Ever had your hair pulled out by tape?  This is worse than that!  She applied wax, then put a cloth like velcro down, the rip, rip, rip.  Oh God did that hurt! At one point I had tears in my eyes.  However it did get rid of the hair!  The tell me it gets better because you do not have as much hair next time to pull.  Well forget it!  Anything that painful cannot be that good for you! To those of you who bikini wax, you are much braver than I am! I cannot imagine doing that to private area of my body!!!
I had not looked in the mirror for several days since my surgery. I knew I was getting hairy, but when I saw a beard, it had to go.
The face is still tender and I did this before dialysis on Friday.  I must have been out of my mind!

I have my eyebrows done.  Now it is almost a "good" hurt.  You want it done so bad that it hurts good.  I've also had my upper lip done.  I love the movies where a man decides to get waxed.  They scream like a girl!!   :D

I have my brows and bikini done regularly. (I hope the boys are staying away from this thread!!)
It's so much easier than shaving and tweezing.
It does hurt like hell, but it's worth the few minutes of pain.

You all have got more guts than me!   Have never had anything waxed, 'cept the car or floor...hehe!  I did, however, try Nair on my chin to see if it would work for my sis ~  Do not ever do that, I lost feeling for 3 weeks!! owwwww!  The numbness is weird !  And I didn"t even have it on for the prescribed 3 minutes!  DON'T TRY IT AT HOME, I beg of you....for you will be sorry.

Oh Geez. Wish I had been warned before I tried Nair.  OUCH!  My legs got all pimply and red and hurt like hell for quite awhile.  I even got into the shower after using it and washed and scrubbed it off as much as possible.  Almost as bad as the wax job.  I tried the stuff for faces and that burned my entire face red.  Oh my.  At one time I ended up with a razor in hand tackling the hair on my face, I had no choice and that hurt, too.  Oh the trials of being a woman!

Ow, ow, ow.  Not a chance at a waxing for me - plucking is bad enough.

As a diabetic, I'm not even supposed to shave my legs.  Too much risk of infection.  I'm afraid I'm horribly non-compliant on that point.  I'm good about most of the things diabetics are supposed to do - I wear sunblock every day, never go bare foot anywhere but the bed or the shower, I check my sugar so often my fingers look freckled from the lancet marks, but I just can't stand looking like Sasquatch.  :P

I saw a lady at a nail salon having her face "threaded." I had never seen that before but apparently
it works well and isn't as painful as waxing for removing facial hair. You can read more about it here:

I have heard about threading. There is a cart in Ontario Mills Mall that offers threading.  Thought maybe I would try that next when the hair gets crazy again.
