Our tradition is to unwrap the gift - the baby Jesus at midnight. Then, everyone opens the rest of the gifts. Merry Christmas to all and thank you to our secret santas.

Getting the heck out of town.

« Reply #235 on: December 25, 2009, 07:58:34 AM »

Secret Santa did not put his name inside.  It must have been the REAL Santa though cause nobody else would have known the perfect gift for me.  I'd been wanting the Ronan Tynan Christmas Album and Santa sent it.  And a big bag that said "coal" on it (Santa must be a jokster)  but actually had a bag of black  jelly beans (my favorite kind).  How could anyone but the REAL Santa have known that?

But in case it was one of his elves and some one knows who it was, please give them a big thank you for me.

 :bandance; :bandance; :clap; :clap; :2thumbsup; :2thumbsup; :yahoo; :thumbup;

Thank you Nurse Wratchet!!! For my secret Santa I got a very bright LED flashlight.  It was perfect because I have not replaced my flashlight after my car was broken into.  :2thumbsup;

Added bonus: She included a book.  Genesis of the Artificial Kidney.  Here is the very cool thing about it.  She signed the inside cover and asked that after I read it I send to another IHD member for them to read and pass on to another member to read and...you get the point.  What a wonderful idea.  First IHD member to ask, I will send it to AFTER I read it.

Dear Secret Santa,

Every girl needs a beautiful homemade gift from a very thoughtful person on Christmas Day.  Thank you so much for the glittery candle holder!  I will post a picture of it as soon as I figure out what I did with my camera.  And I'll be singing raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens all day today now that you've reminded me.

Sending you love and hugs and best wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

From my Secret Santa (no name given), they hit all marks. meaning Automitive, Chocolate, and Humor  :rofl; :rofl;
The return address is humorous as I posted earlier, the Christmas card, and writing on one package that said it is ok to OPEN NOW!  :rofl; :rofl; I was given a box of Samoas and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies :2thumbsup; :yahoo;, a bag of mixed pretzel and graham crackers covered in caramel and chocolate,. For stocking stuffers in mini socks, 2 Bailey's Irish Cream bottles (Airplane Size), a keychain of a car, a Lotto Ticket, a $20.00 Starbucks card, and a shot glass from Atlantic City.

My Secret Santa went overboard on me. I appreciate it and would have been happy with just the cookie or cookies or the chocolate mix. :2thumbsup; I'd send a humorous Thank You card, but there's no address or name given.

AND
Lola sent me a big bag of the Peanut Butter Kisses(taffy, not Hershey's) that I had trouble getting  :2thumbsup;

Thank You to the both of you

I will have to take pictures and post if I don't eat all the chocolate pretzels and graham crackers first :shy; :rofl;

And next year, you should not fuss at your elders  for wanting their presents early.  As we age we don't have much time left to enjoy then.  Plus, what if I'd died before Christmas?  Then you would all feel bad.

Can't believe I waited.. but it wasn't from lack of trying.

Does Mum like the licorice too (I keep saying black jelly beans because I can't spell Liquorish, licorish, etc.)

She's a terror for her jelly beans, Willow...

Hope you'd a nice Christmas Day, and Santa was good to you!...

Darth...

P.S... Can I apologise to our receipients???... The only boxes that I could find that were the right size, AND were strong enough to stand up to the rigours of the postal service were from Mum's 'D' shields!!!... On the plus side, from reading their posts, it does appear that both packages arrived intact!... ;D

Thanks so much to Rolando for my secret santa assortment of goodies.  Love the fridge magnet manatee and turtle, the hatching turtle eggs and have never had a magnetic bookmark ever before.  What a cool idea.  Secret Santa is such a nice thing.

Thank you Grammalady!  Both for running the Secret Santa this year and BEING my secret Santa.

I got very much a taste of Colorado!   A calendar with beautiful scenic vistas, a magnetic bookmark...which I will use daily, just several items to make me want to visit Colorado even more than I already did.

It was so nice to open the gift this morning and to feel excitement I haven't felt since childhood....so cool.

May everyone have a blessed and joyful holiday season and a wonderful 2010!

I'm also enjoying every minute of reading about the other gifts that folks received!
