Dumplings usually equals meat in Asian restaurants, so I'm going to have to give it a yucky.

Cherries jubilee (I've never actually had this, so sincerely want to know if it's worth a try.)

Low phos ice cream (yeah, I have to make it myself — 100% double cream; sugar; egg yolks and vanilla pod.)

Homegrown cucumbers in sour cream

I've never tried it, but it doesn't sound like my thing. Although I love raita, so I'll give it a 'suspend judgment until I try it'.

crepes suzette? (another one I've not tried and want to know if it's worth the cost of the Grand Marnier) ;D

Cariad, to my knowledge, crepes suzette is just crepes, no filling, a dab of liquer to set them afire and then some oh, ice cream and or fruit.

Oh, is that all? I received a recipe for them a long time ago, and I seem to remember it was complicated and called for expensive, orange-themed ingredients. What you describe does sound yummy, and easy.

Yummy on the french toast so long as it's done the way I like it, with a good quality bread. (I like using ciabatta!)

Let's see.... how about scallops?

Scallops Yummy. Washed down with 1996 Bienvenues Bâtard Montrachet (£250 a bottle) Super yummy.

I can remember an occasion when I had Crêpes Suzette at the University Arms Hotel, Cambridge. Whenever I ate there I always asked for the same waiter, Antonio. He was good at flambé dishes. I'd often eat a flambé steak followed by Crêpes Suzette. Anyway, on this occasion the next door table were clearly impressed by Antonio's flambéing of my Crêpes Suzette, caramelising sugar, then squeezing orange and lemon followed by shots of Cointreau and brandy. Only they didn't have Antonio as a waiter; theirs was a waitress with thick pebble specs who made a complete pig's ear of the dish. She never got it hot enough to flame, so called for another set of alcohol shots but still didn't manage it. I was sorry for the diners...

However, yummy or yucky — Borsch (борщ)

lime or lemon ice cubes - sounds really yummy, but I would never pay for such a thing, too easy to make at home. My husband freezes lime slices for his gin and tonics since the limes go off before he uses them up when just left in the fridge.

[Loved your crepes suzette story, Stoday. I actually am more inclined to feel sorry for the server, though. It's my American bias toward the working class, I suppose.]

Ostrich? (You all know I haven't tried it, but my husband does like it.)

Alligator Steaks - I actually almost tried those in New Orleans many years ago, even though I was a seasoned vegetarian at that point. I was intrigued, but then the waitress told me that they tasted like pork and that killed it for me. While I ate and enjoyed meat for years during my childhood, pork and veal were two that I dreaded. So, I'll have to say yucky.

Merigues Chantilly topped with fruit (commonly known as Pavlova down under)?
