I spoke to the ICU nurse this morning but Janel was asleep at the time.

I ordered a balloon bouquet from IHD for Janel, hopefully it will be delivered tomorrow.

I just had a great conversation with Janel! They've moved her to a regular room from ICU - so that's a good sign! She has had 2 surgeries for bowel blockage/leakage but it looks like that's working out ok. She has not had any solid food for a long time, and is still on IV fluids. Her creatinine has gone down and she's hoping to make more urine over the next day or so. She's very swollen so they did dialysis yesterday, but today she'll get a large dose of Lasix, which should help. She said to tell everyone hello and "I will be back!" It looks like she won't be out of the hospital anytime soon so if you'd like to send her a card let me know I and I will give you her info. She got our balloon bouquet today and thanks everyone, for the prayers too - she says - keep your fingers crossed!
 :yahoo; Get well Janel!!!

Saying prayers that she is well soon and home!

Lasix is an awesome drug.  Logey had to have quite a bit of it to kickstart his kidney.  His kidney was a bit shellshocked to go from a 19 year old to an 18 month old.

Hi everyone, I talked to jbeany today, she is still very weak but hanging on.  She still has about 50 pounds of water weight on her.  The doctor said that she will be feeling weak for about 2 weeks and then should start to pull out of it.  Other than that there is nothing new.

Hi everyone.  I talked to jbeany yesterday and she had a great day, at least as great as it could be.  The nurses had her up and walking.  She has had all dialysis ports removed.  Her water gain is still going down and kidney function is still improving.  All things considering a great day.  Just wanted to post some good news for a change!!!!
