Hi, Jbeany's ex-hubby again.  Not much new at this point.  She is in Ann Arbor Michigan at the U of M Transplant Center.  As of this morning she still can't have phone calls.  As soon as I get a phone number for her I will be passing it along.

Important news flash:  jbeany is making her own pee.   :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

This is jbeany's sister, writing from U of M transplant care with EXCELLENT news.  She received a kidney/pancreas combo, and both appear to be working WONDERFULLY!!!  She went into pre-op about 6:30 am Thursday, and was in recovery about 1:45.  Her doctor was very happy with the organs and how well the surgery went.  Her dedication to losing weight has really paid off!  She was moved out of the recovery area about 7:00 Thursday night.

Her cret. levels are at 5.6, and she is no longer receiving insulin because she's levelled off at right about 100. :)

She's still sleepy, only waking for a few minutes at a time, but of course she wanted to make sure everyone here was updated.  They should have her sitting up this afternoon. Right now she's dealing with some nausea that's making it hard for her to move around, but the meds for that should kick in soon.

I don't see anywhere that you can send emails to patients here, but as soon as she's up and around, you know she'll be trying to get to a computer.  :2thumbsup; :2thumbsup; :2thumbsup; :cuddle; :bow;

I spoke to the hospital gift shop and they said they do balloon bouquets. There doesn't appear to be any way to email greetings to her.

Jut got home and went to this thread first. Glad JB is doing better, but hate to hear about the nausea feeling.

To bad we can't send emails or e-cards though. :bestwishes; :cookie; :cookie; :cookie; :cookie; :cookie; :cookie; :cookie;

Bet she will be sick of the liquid diet fast until everything moved around to get both organs in settles down and passes test to start eating solid food.
