Got the call while at dialysis this morning.  Coordinator said the organs had not been harvested yet, so still needed a visual inspection to ensure that they were viable for transplant.  I'm packed, my two best friends are scrambling to get off work and pack so they can get here and join my wait, and hopefully drive me the 4 hours to the hospital.  Bouncing off the walls, trying to settle down and be patient, in case this one isn't for me. . . .

Aw, heck, never mind settling down!

Still waiting here.  Just talked to the coordinator as she was leaving for the day.  She gave me her pager number.  Apparently, the hold up is that they are still trying to match all the available organs, and they have not yet gotten everything paired up.  Nothing has been harvested yet.  (Okay, that's the best way I can think to put that.  Someone, somewhere, is still breathing on a machine.  God bless him and his family.)  The waiting continues. . .

Wow how exiting.  Someone the other day asked on a thread if anyone had had the call while they were at dialysis - and now here you are!  Thinking of you and fingers crossed.

 :pray; jbeany, real hard. We got the call at 2:30 am Wednesday morning and admitted by 9 that morning and waited until Thursday after lunch for the kidney to arrive. It was the most stressful wait I have ever been through.  :stressed; Thinking good thoughts and sending tons of prayers and bless that donor and their family.  :cuddle;

JB, I almost jumped out of my chair when I read your post....

I am thinking of you...  I know that the wait is excruciating, but no matter what, you are getting phone calls.  The clock just started ticking a lot faster and a lot louder.
