Hello from Appleton

I am home and I DID get to see Sluff. We met at the Kwik Trip truck stop at Interstate 94 exit 143 in Tomah. And as I said previously, I knew it would be a short visit. It was exactly 5 minutes! He is allowed a 7 monute stop without the Computer notifying his dispatcher (nka Drvier managers) that the truck has stopped moving. I got to hug him,kiss him 2x, :) had him sign some paperwork for our COBRA insurance and he got to see and pet Scooter, who by the way, did remember him.

Sorry I did not even think to take a picture. He looked thinner and a little road weary from putting on 300 miles before we met and proudly told me he had on his "cleanest dirty shirt".

I did not get to meet his team mate who was sleeping but I had promised to buy lunch or dinner so I gave him some $$ and waved goodbye with a tear in my eye. I really miss him.  :'(

 LIfe in the road is tough to say the least....   usually you only get one day off a week which they try to get you home for the 4 days off.... and with the qualcomm ( computer on the truck ) it does have a direct link to the home office..... and when they say that cant stop more than 7 minutes it sure makes it rough when your trying to fuel and the lines are backed up...... let alone trying to get a shower...  driving team is rough and busy..... These guys ( and girls) are some of the hardest working people  out there...  driving  11 hours a day on their logs books..... and trying to live life moving in a truck 24/7.... Really seems like the only true rest you get is when you are waiting to unload or load.....  by the time you get home for home time  you are just right down tired.....   Takes a bit to get use to..... probably like dialysis.....

    I dont know sluff    but is he on PD or did he have a transplant.... was just wondering....  I am pretty new here and I am still learning about everyone.....      kathy

I think the same website that does these has a truck one (think I saved it from my old pc). It is of a trucker hitting something though or one of the smiley faces. I will have to look for back up disk.

Sorry it was such a short visit Christy, hopefu;y it will be over shortly in a few months and you can see Sluff more.

Christy, I am so glad you had 5 minutes.  I am sure it did Sluff so much good to see you and Scooter.  I hope he is doing ok.  We all worry about him and miss him terribly.    :cuddle;
