Changes...

Today our son James got 4 wisdom teeth pulled - he is in a little pain - the meds help - I hope he recovers quickly. He is moving in with friends at their apartment soon (let's hope he finds a job!)

I am leaving tomorrow morning to fly with Becca to New York, then we drive to the college where she will check in on Saturday. I am anxious and excited about her new adventure - I just will miss her terribly.

Jenna is planning to go to Paris the end of Sept. so that will be another big change. She will be there for about 3 months.

I still have a 14 year old son at home - but all these changes are making me wish I could go back in time a bit.

I don't know how much internet access I will have in NY, but I will check in when I can.

3 months in Paris - how wonderful for Jenna!

Hang in there, karol - if they are flying away, that means you fledged them well!

I've got to say I had all 4 wisdom teeth out about 4 years ago. I took just 2 painkillers and I was fine. Was hard to eat for a few days and my tongue kept finding all the "holes" in my mouth which was a bit weird to get used to but I was pretty right after a little bit.. didn't even have much swelling.... !!! So I hope James' experience is similar!

All the girls flying the coop... oh dear   :grouphug;

The birds are leaving the nest.  You raised them well! Becca will have a blast out there in New York. Jenna is going to have real life experiences in Paris.  What fun,to do new things!

I would LOVE to go to NYC.  Think of me when you are there!  Empty nest sucks, my baby was out of the house since Sept of 08, I am ok now but it did take time.

Have a great trip! :cuddle;

Changes are good.  :cuddle;  What course/College did Becca choose in the end? She is going to have such a wonderful time. I am sure you will miss her.

Skype is a wonderful tool! With Becca and Jenna away you will be at least be able to "see" them! Jenna will be there the same time as Hayley! I wish you and I could "do lunch" and cry together!

I'm crying already and my oldest is only moving a few miles away at an apartment for college! I cry just thinking about when they aren't in the house anymore. But, I think when it's time - we are ready for them to leave! That's the way I felt about my youngest driving. I liked driving him and his friends around, but that gets old quick!

Nick had four wisdom teeth taken out. He was under general anesthesia. He was chipmunk cheek a few days later. He did well eating mac & cheese, pudding, jello, popsicles, mashed potatoes, and oatmeal.

Sounds like you have your hands full. Enjoy the time!

Becca and I had a good trip to NY. We stayed at a bed and breakfast on Friday night. I remembered how scared she was to sleep alone in her room when she was little, and she'd wake me up to crawl in bed with me (for years!) She is so brave now, it's hard to believe it's the same girl!
Her roommate is great, and her family was really nice too. I think they will get along just fine. Their dorm looks out over a forest of trees, it's really a special place.
It was hard to leave Becca. I am so proud of her but I miss her too.'

 :cuddle; okarol. My heart hurts just reading your post. I would have to set up camp near Becca because I would have a hard time leaving. We are never done being Mom's. Be safe on your trip back to Ca.  :cuddle;

Thanks for reminding me about Skype. I had a great talk with Jenna last night and the connection was clear as can be!  :thx;
