Arm is Fixed!

  Got a very big surprise!
  As I noted a few days ago, my left arm was in need of repair, since my fistula was having big problems with low flows, etc. It was scheduled to be done on the 29th of this month.
  Well, this past Monday I got a call from the nurse case manager for the surgeon, and I am happy to report that yesterday, the third, my graft was put in.
  It went well, although as my doctor told me it would be, it really is uncomfortable. But they gave me some pain meds, and I am dealing with it pretty well.
  So, that means that perhaps at the end of the month, depending on how well everything heals, I may start using it, and then soon after that, no more catheter!
  The ironic thing about it is that this morning I felt the old access, and it was bumping right along, stronger than before the surgery. But we did use the cath.; it was just funny to feel the pulse in the vein in the access.
  Next up, colonoscopy.
  Now, pain med, then off to bed!

Always a relief to get these "details" out of the way.  I know you're longing to get rid of the cath and I don't blame you...they're wretched IMO.
