Sometimes I just can't believe it.

I do get so mad at times. A few weeks ago, now John is back on his feet I thought I would make a few appointments for him, to sort out other health issues.  One was a hearing test the other was an eye test. It didn't surprise me when the answer came back 'yes' he does need a hearing aid.  The eye test is next week. Instead of thanking me he just moans and says he doesn't need this back up. I think the ear and eye problems came about from his 2 stokes he had over a year ago. It has caused us to argue as half the time I was always having to repeat myself and he was having to have the TV turned up so loud. He does already have glasses but refuses to wear them all the time, they are now over 2 years old.
And the other thing I'm mad about is I made myself a non urgent appointment with the Dr. it is for the 28th May.  I left the appointment card on the side and he saw it and thought it was for him and hit the roof.  I told him it was for myself, and you know after a week he still hasn't ask me why I NEED to go to the Dr. What do you make of that.  Yvonne the wife ranting again.

I think he relies upon you a lot and it would be difficult for him to consider what would happen if you were sick too.  He has a lot that he's struggling with, and I'm sure it is very frustrating.  He's probably frightened, whether or not he even realizes that himself.

Yvonne, I'm sending you hugs because it is for sure true that in general men take much worse care of themselves than women.  Not all men, not all women but in general that's the case.

I also think Cherpep is right on the money.  John can't possibly allow himself to consider "what if" anything happens to you...better to bury the head in the sand.

So, come here for support ,dear Yvonne, and of course we will all tell you that you MUST look out for yourself and that includes regular checkups for you too.  I hope you are not feeling poorly or anything, just being proactive...don't need two sick people under one roof.

As for the hearing aids situation...
