Well, it didn't happen. The Pancreas got damaged when they removed it.  I am back to waiting.  We had just gotten tot he hospital when we got the call.

I am out of luck on this one, but the donor was able to gove his heart lungs, kidneys , liver and other organs.  There are people up and down the west coast in Operating rooms tonight that need our prayers.

Wallyz, (aka Brian!)

I am really saddened by this news, but at the same time, I am really touched by your concern and caring for all the other patients receiving transplants from these donors.  You have been through so many of these yo-yo-like situations, and for once, you deserve your turn!!!  I was really hoping that this one would work out for you, as we all were.  I guess the best way to look at this is maybe this one woudn't have worked out for you, and the P/K transplant that *will* work out for you just hasn't happened yet.  Not that i'm wishing for someone's untimely death, but you know what I mean.  When you do get that gift of life with freedom, may it be from an ultra-healthy donor that had good karma for most of his/her life, coupled with a positive attitude, and that all of that flows through your veins and makes this transplant story of yours one of the more successful ones!  I'm rooting for you, Brian.  You, and all our other transplantees this evening, are in my prayers tonight and always.

Oh, and looking forward to beating you at pool at The Garage, maybe even post-transplant and you can show off your scar!  ;D

I'm sorry Wallyz but I'm totally bummed by this news.. I don't want to be a downer but this is getting beyond a bit of a joke. How many have you been offered, or been backup for or whatever that haven't worked out? I personally feel so crushed reading your news. It is awesome how you are happy for and care about the others getting that organs.. and that is totally selfless.. but I'm telling you I *so* wanted this one to be for you (ok one=two being kidney/pancreas I know!! :))..

You are an awesome person and you so deserve one to go your way and it better bloody be soon!!!

you are very much in my thoughts.

Oh, Wally,
Now it is tears of sadness.  :'(

I was soooo excited for you yesterday. And when I saw your reply in my thread about Pureflow I was worried...

You have such a wonderful attitude. I really admire you.

I will be pulling for you and all those waiting for transplants.

It is a Yo-Yo, but I have only been on the list 5 months.  This is fast, and I am grateful.

Another good thing- the kidney that I couldn't get because the Pancreas was damaged went to a teenager at Seattle Children's Hospital.  I'm OK with waiting if that's the outcome.

Karen-

Smack talk, huh?  I want you to know that-  wait.  Do you smell that smokey smell?  Oh right, that's the smell of you going down in flames.

Keep your words soft and sweet lady, I'll make you eat'em. :2thumbsup;

Everyone has been nice and supportive about my positive attitude, and I am glad. However, I have to be honest about this.  When I heard that they had damaged the pancreas, and I would not be able to use it, the phrase "Ham-fisted, sorry ass pathetic excuse for a surgeon, &(*%-nut quack"  did cross my mind once or twice.
