 :'(  :'( I have had a bad day. Our 16 year old Mouse was put to sleep this morning. She hasn't been doing well and I stayed up with her all last night. I called the Vet this morning and took her in. She was down to four and half pounds and really lifeless. It broke my heart and Len and I have cried so much today. Willie and Winnie are looking for Mouse in all of her usual hiding places. We have decided that as we lose the beloved pets we have now, that we aren't going to get anymore. It just hurts too bad. Our home just won't be the same anymore.  :'(  :'(

Sorry for your loss............We know how hard that is  :cuddle;

Sadly there are many little mouses out there that need a good loving home.  And your home would be one of them loving homes for sure.  So many animals need a loving home.  it is so sad.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Oh, I am so sorry and saddened to hear this news!  This is one of the most difficult aspects of having a pet.  Their little lives are so short!  I have also considered not getting any more pets because losing them is so difficult, but I have decided that the benefits of having them, even for a short time, is worth it for me.  Everyone has to make their own choices, though, and I do understand completely what you are saying.

I am sending you a big hug. . .   :cuddle;

I'm so sorry for your loss, but as much as it hurts the good out weighs the bad.  Look back at how many smiles Mouse brought you.  Look back at how many hugs and kisses you got.  Don't give up on being a pet owner.  Love of a lifetime out weighs the loss of today.

Today you are sad but you will have warm happy memories.

So sorry!      :(

twirl, I know I have been saying it and I do mean it. I don't want something to happen to Len and I both and have pets that Lord knows what would happen to them. Our Vet raises Yorkies and the understanding is, if something happens to us, he will take Willie and Winnie and I know they will be taken care of the rest of their lives. I think a lot of it has to do with both us us getting older and worry more about things like that.  :cuddle;

w and w,
I'm so sad to hear the news about Mouse.  I know all four of you (including Willie and Winnie) will be lonesome for her for a while.  It is so heart-breaking to lose a good pet, and I know how you feel about not getting another one.  I often think that Hop-Sing will be my last pet because, like you and Len, Marvin and I are getting older and I worry about what would happen to my precious dog if we weren't around; no one would love him and take care of him like I do.

As I'm sitting here thinking of Mouse, wasn't she involved in that mole story you told a while back?  If so, there's a happy, funny memory of her to hang on to.

I'm thinking of you and hurting for you.  Love Willie and Winnie extra, extra tonight (like you don't already).

Hi W&W...

I'm very sorry to hear about the death of your beloved Mouse... I understand totally the depth of pain you're enduring at the moment... I have lost many pets both through natural causes, and having to make that dreadful decision to euthanize...

Please don't give up on being a pawed person's parents... The joys FAR outweigh the pain!...

God bless you...

Lots of  :grouphug;

Love...
