Today i got in the mail a letter from my insurance company that is paying for all my dialysis junk stating that a laptop with all my personal information was stolen from an employees car a few months back. First i was angry but then i looked at more of the letter and there is stuff like they offer free protection form some credit watching place for a year. Then i did a tad research online and apparenty these letters have been going out for a while now. So i am totally confused because everything looks so professional and serious.

according to this site these letters are like chain mail or something, so i dont know what to do!  ???

Don't do it. Check you credit report for free, once a year at annualcreditreport.com That letter you got just wants your money.  :waving;

thats what i was thinking, why would a insurance company that is helping me do this to me though?

 :waving; I'd be talking to Fresenius first to see if it was true and they would be paying for the credit insurance because they are the ones that let an employee take sensive information home. Let us know what you find out.  :cuddle;

Call your insurance company directly and use the phone number from your insurance card or something.  Scams have become so "realistic" and they mimic letterhead and everything.

Be careful!  I agree you can do your own free credit check.   Good Luck.
