My positive for today...my SIL will get out of the hospital tomorrow afternoon so I have only one more night of sleeping in a chair in her room and then it's back to my own very comfortable bed!   :clap;

We had supper at hubby's sister's this afternoon. I fried Atlantic salmon and she made potato salad. I made a chicken ceaser salad and took there for my supper.  Not really fond of salmon - plus I am trying to lose weight.  Nice everybody sitting down together.

Sore in the best possible way from today's Pilates class.  Managed for the very first time to accomplish a side plank and raise top leg while in side plank position. Managed to hold that for about 4 seconds.

(2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly)
Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes.
Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr.  2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

Just been told I get D'd at the satelite centre, rather than the ward, for the next 4 sessions. I've had the last 2 sessions there. A much better atmosphere.

I still don't have my car, so was forced to walk to my GP's office for an appointment, and then to the post office to mail the blood tube off to the blood and tissue network. It was about 2 miles of total walking. I made it!  :cheer:

My positive for today,  thanks to Facebook found some friends from Canada I hadn't seen or corresponded with for many years.  We are now "friends" and in touch with one another again.   :yahoo; :yahoo; :yahoo;

I have the laundry all done for the week and most of the housework done!!  :yahoo;  I just took a cherry cake out of the oven. It looks really good but it is a new recipe so I hope it tastes good as well!!

Del, I would be happy to help you test that cake!  :beer1;

I'm chugging right along. My training organization gets audited next week so I have to make sure all the records are in tip-top order!

The problem with my computer is minor and I'm taking it in on Sunday to have it fixed under my Apple Care program. Won't cost a penny!

I made reservations for my plane trip to Massachusetts and for the hotel while I'm in Boston for an international Montessori meeting. I even have the second course nearly half written. I'm feeling "powerful."  :2thumbsup;

Diagnosed Nov 2007 with Multiple Myeloma.
By Jan 2008 was in end stage renal failure and on haemodialysis.
Changed to CAPD in April 2008.  Now on PD with a cycler.  Working very part time - teaching music.  Love it.  Husband is Paul (we're both 46), daughter Molly is 13.

Hanify...I'd trade places with you anytime you say!  Just for a day or two???  Please???? Pretty Please??? 

My positive for today is that I got to bring SIL home!!!  Other than very tired, she is doing great with her chemo treatment.  And she has a wonderful attitude about it.  She refuses to let anyone tell her the potential side effects of the cocktails they are infusing her with.  She says that if she doesn't know what they are, then she won't be expecting to have them!

I had been debating whether to get one last haircut and color done before all my hair falls out from the radiation in March. I was leaning toward spending the $100 plus tip to enjoy what little time I have left with my hair, and then I came home yesterday to an email from the salon saying they were offering $20 off any service of $50 or more until Sunday. I booked an appointment for this afternoon, and told the stylist that I wanted it short, but beyond that I didn't really care about the specific style. She really spent time on the cut, and while I probably would never have thought to ask for this particular style, I really like it. It will be fun to try it out, risk-free. And it only cost $88, with tip.  :yahoo;

Our first New's Year's together - A new beginning

I keep trying to change my hairstyle and it seems to go right back to what it was.  :rofl;

My positive for today is I got a lot accomplished at work.  I created a new report for my boss that eliminated about 5 different reports.  She was very happy!  Also, IT'S FRIDAY!  We got through our first week of 6 treatments and Lou is already sleeping better and says he doesn't have the brain fuzzies as much.  I think it's working.......   :yahoo;  :yahoo;  :yahoo;

Road trip time!  I'm packing to leave Sunday morning to head downstate to my Monday appointment with the plastic surgeon.  Hopefully, the surgery will be scheduled very soon, and I can get the huge hole in my stomach sealed up - I'm sick of wound dressings!
My friend is driving up to meet me.  The transplant hospital in Ann Arbor is about half way between us, so about 5 hours on the road for each of us.  We'll spend the night in the same motel room, and probably talk more than sleep.  She told me she wanted to watch the game on Sunday.  My response - "What game?"  Ummmmm - can you tell I'm not into football?   ::)

My  positive for the day is I finally got a check from SS for 7 months of taking out for my insurance in error.  I'm going shopping?  Maybe for a new mattress.

HEHE.  Mattress Mac is a Houston legend totally involved in houston charities (including the rodeo) who because  a zillionaire by selling mattresses on the side of the freeway (the american dream I guess)

Go shopping Dan!!  have some fun.  My positive is that the forcast for here was wrong!!  We did NOT get the snow that was forecast. It was supposed to be high winds and 20 -50 cm of snow!!  it has snowed but nowhere near that much and no wind!!
