Hey all. I am new to this forum and would love to get to know people, my name is Chris (26) and i am on dilalysis. i have the one thats in the stomach and do al the stuff at home. I try not to know to much about this stuff as i feel like i am the only one around me who has to go through this, thats is until i found this interesting site. i also do the dialysis 4x a day, it just got upped to 5x as of yesterday actually. i was born with a rare disease called alports syndrome which im sure most people on this forum already know about, which also attributed to my hearing loss over the years.
since i have been on dialysis for a year i went on the transplant list  and etc. the whole process is annoying and long but i made the nj/nyc transplant list.
now that i am on dialysis 5x a day i have no time to do anything anymore.
so dialysis sucks.
but i do love the punk scene, i love photography and computers (of course) i love art and just getting out. and also since i am on dialysis i will be heading back to school and etc. s
so i hope to meet some interesting people with interesting stories. thats about it  :beer1;

Hey Consumer.

What part of Jersey you in?  We have a few jersey members here me one of them.
dialysis 5X a day must be hard.  Can you not do the cycler?  have they talked to you about it.
Glad you found the #1 Support site for dialysis patients.
Hope to see you on many of the threads.

Consumer you sound like a great guy to get to know.  Welcome to IHD and I hope you find this site home.  There are lots of interesting people here and most of the time there is someone on line to talk with.  Here..... it is okay to say you "hate dialysis" without someone saying "now, be positive".  Sometimes you just need to vent and here is the place to go because you family doesn't want to hear it.

Welcome aboard.  This is a great place for information and shoulders to cry on.  I also started PD with 4 exchanges a day, then 5, then 6, before they literally forced me to go on the cycler.  Yeah, it's a pain in the butt, and you just learn to work around your schedule.  Hang in there!

 :welcomesign;  Chris.  You sound like a great guy and I think you will enjoy this site.  There is lots of information, but also some laughs and silliness.   My daughter is your age, and I am very sorry you have to deal with kidney failure.   You might enjoy our chat room, too.  Usually there are several of us on in the late evening (est).  You really get to know people in the chat room!   Glad you are here and I look forward to reading more of your posts.   :clap;
