When I started PD I was using 2000 ml bags 4 times per day. Then I went to the cycler which has not been working well on drains. So, now that I am doing manuals, for some reason my nurse changed my prescription to 2500 ml bags without a test or anything! She said because I was 6ft tall I'd
probably need the larger bags. After the increase and much discomfort, last month during clinic I raised the question with her and the dr. and now I'm back to the 2000ml bags. The Dr. did not even know my nurse bumped me up to 2500 bags. Well, the delivery came today with 2000ml bags.
There is a huge difference between bags. I feel much better internally (like my other organs have room now.. lol ) and my stomach isnt as extended. I guess the moral of this story is don't be afraid to question the decisions your nurses and doctors make. Its been one day, and I feel much better.
