My girlfriend passed away
«
on:
February 08, 2009, 05:30:45 PM »
My girlfriends husband (Kermit) called this morning and I had trouble understanding him. Mary was 62 and Kermit said that the advance life support people worked on her for 30 minutes and weren't able to revive her. She has not been well since September and was scheduled this week for more test. I am in shock. We went through pictures today and told stories about our antics when we were all in the military. Kermit called again this evening and I just listen to him talk. Mary's sister is staying with him and the Fleet Reserve and Moose Lodge are doing all we can to help with everything. Kermit can't even find the address book. I sometimes wonder why God does the things he does. This was a big reminder to tell the ones special to you that you love them and give that extra hug because you never know if it will be the last.
I want my IHD family to know that I love all of you and wished I could give each and every one of you the biggest hug.

I, too, love you! I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I wonder the same thing about why God does the things he does. I truly believe things happen for a reason and most of the time I can find that reason, although the reason rarely shows itself right away. I feel guilty for questioning him, but I think by now he knows me well enough to let me vent and then figure it out for myself.
My sincere condolenses.

I'm so sorry. I'm sure none of us make a point to tell our loved ones how we feel, as often as we should. I know I don't anyway. I'll work on that for myself, and say a prayer for your loss.

So sorry for your loss Kathy.
It takes something like this to remind us how fragile life is and how precious each and every one of our friends and family are. I always make a point of hugging my sons when they go on a journey (they probably hate it!) because I always think (not in a macabre way) that it may just be the last time I see them. I also always kiss Mum & Dad when I leave their home. We don't express our good and loving feelings often enough. I Love you guys for the way you always wrap your arms around me (and others) when comfort is needed.

Kathy,
I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend. I, too, often wonder why things happen like they do to the people that they do; unfortunately, I don't have any answers. Just know that I'm thinking about you.

so so so sorry for the loss of your friend and I guess I am like everyone else and wonder sometimes why God does do the things he does but it has always bugged me why we are not "suppose" to question him. I mean I think the reason we are not suppose to question him is if and when we do, we are questioning is power, is that right? Oh well, that is my thinking anyways but I think that just because we do question him does not necessarily mean we are "questioning" his power, we are merely just *wondering* why he did what he did, you think?
Well, anyways, again, I am truly sorry for your loss and I also agree that times like this can remind you to tell others that you love them!
