Open one desk drawer on your desk or your kitchen junk drawer.  What is in it?

Tonight I found
a dozen pens and pencils
2 glue sticks
staples
2 packs of paper clips
2 screwdrivers
3 rulers
staple remover
small set of headphones
calculator
dog nail clippers
A book of old stamps
a book light

I have a drawer at work where I keep all the notes and cards any student has ever given me.  I taught one of the required courses for our graduate school curriculum for a decade and have been directing a summer program for undergrads for over 10 years, so I have had a chance to get to know lots of great young people really well. It's a complete joy to get those cards and notes.  Many of my former students now have successful careers, are married, have kids and such.  I see some of them at conferences and some send me cards at the holidays.  I save everything - I'm a very sentimental pack rat.  :guitar:

bottom junk drawer at work:

6 back-a-gon balls (some trend the kids are into... they're magnetic and open up into little creatures I think.. I pick them up all the time)
princess mini-notebook with "i hate so and so" written in it
package of envelopes
happy brithday post cards, pencils, stickers, and book marks
bandaids
note card rings
various coins
sticky notes
good work stickers
one bag of cheetos that I picked up from a kid
1 jar of peanut butter (in case the blood sugar drops)
plastic spoons
