ohh...  Sorry Ang, I thought you had it done last week. Good luck for tomorrow. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a PKD free abdomen! That is going to feel sooo good.


Tuesday.... I will be having tests done also but I am sure to catch the highlights on the TV down here.

because i'm "on vacation" dialysis is m, t, s, so i'll be hooked up and plugged in to the tv at dialysis. might as well watch, after all it's history.

I will be teaching 6th and 7th graders. However I am going to hope the computer will put CNN.com up for live coverage so we can all watch the inauguration.  What a non written lesson plan.

Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.

Feb 13, 2008 - Activated on "the list".
Nov 5, 2008 - Received living donor transplant from my sister-in-law, Etta.
Nov 5, 2011 - THREE YEARS POST TRANSPLANT!  :D

I watched a fair bit today of the preparations and the mounting excitement.  I will definitely be watching tomorrow's events with interest and particularly look forward to The Speech.  Did anyone see Oprah's show today?  Will-I-Am, Faith Hill, Bono, Seal were all singing a new song by David Foster.  Very nice.

Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

I watched the inauguration on a 3*5 piece of a computer screen via C-Span. In between giving kids Language Arts to work on.  Hehehe. I heard most of the speech except when the computer speed was not up to snuff.

I cried when he talked about being the son of a man who could have been refused service in a restaurant at one time.  I remember going to Miami as a kid and seeing water fountains that were restricted to "whites".  I couldn't believe it and yet people who lived there would try to justify it with bizarre rationalizations.  I remember crying at that time because that rule would have applied to my nanny who slept in our room until I was 10, and went away to boarding school, and whom I adored.  Here we are not too long before we parted ways and I really missed her at school, maybe even more than my Mum since Nanny spent way more time with us overall.  She was amazing at "handling" me and I was not an "easy" kid but she always made me feel special.  The thought that anyone, anywhere, could consider her in any way less than any one else was completely beyond me and that visit to Miami was a turning point in my life.  I was born in 1953.
