I sure hope that it is going spectacularly well!  :flower;  I also hope that Gail's husband Lee is holding up okay through all of this.  Having both his wife and his sister in surgeries at the same time must be kind of stressful.  :grouphug;

I'm thinking of you two today and hoping and praying that everything goes as planned and that you keep this kidney for the rest of your life.

 :yahoo; Great news!
I just heard from Lee. Kathy came through surgery just fine! The doctors said she gave a "Grade A Kidney!"
Gail is just recently out of recovery and they say the kidney began working immediately. She's got a bag of liquid gold! Lee says she is tired but feeling okay. He will update the caringbridge site in a little while.

Something interesting that Lee told me. Kathy is actually Gail's brother's wife. When Kathy and Gail's brother went on their first date back in 1985 - he was very excited because his sister had just gotten a kidney (it lasted her a long time - over 23 years!) - and now Kathy is the one to donate. Isn't that wonderful!?!

That's great.  I don't know why I thought Kathy was Lee's sister.
