My mom is showing signs of having a brain tumor..
«

My mom has recently started having major dizzy spells, trouble walking/remembering, headaches, feeling nauseated etc. She has since stopped taking her chemo and will see her doctor Jan 8th. I am very concerned she may have a brain tumor now.. I may just be paranoid but shes not getting any better and seems to be rapidly deteriorating. I think she needs to be in the hospital, and so does my dad. She barely eats anymore and she just seems to be slipping away slowly and I am getting more scared each day

I hope the docs have better news. Please try not to worry too much until she sees the doctors and you get a diagnosis.

I too hope that the doctors can help with your Mom's situation Karen. Try not to imagine the worst, as hard as that is to do.

Karen, try not to look too far ahead and just live in the moment. I lost my Dad when I was 30 to lung cancer and it is the so hard to see your parent suffering. I made a point to spend more quiet time with him and just be beside him. I'll be praying that the doctors have better news for your Mom and can help her. Sending you love

Thanks Everyone! I called my moms doctors answering service and he called us back and my mom talked to him. He is having her come into his office tomorrow and will give her fluids through an IV as well as take some blood. Hopefully it may just be low blood pressure, but we shall see tomorrow I guess.

I have menieres disesase Karen which is a fluid imbalance in the inner ear. Last time I was at my specialist there was a lady waiting with me who was having chemo and she said she never even knew she had menieres disease until she started the chemo. She also thought she had a brain tumor because the symptoms of menieres disease are very similar to those you have mentioned. I have no idea why menieres disease might surface or get worse with chemo but might be worth mentioning to your doc. xx

Lets hope for the best Karen, I lost both parents to cancer and the suffering can be inhumane at times. I pray that you and your family, regardless of the outcome, has the strength to face this disease of cancer head on and enjoy the time your family has together. Give your Mom some extra hugs from your IHD family.

Karen.
I am so sorry for you, your mother , and your family. It must be hard to watch your mother suffer. I hope the doctor can find answers for how she is feeling. Hang in there.

So my mom does not have a brain tumor. I think I was just reading to much into the symptoms and with everything you read online it can be easy to freak out! Well she does have to go in for IV Chemo for a couple times but that's better than what I thought! She was just dehydrated. The doctor also gave her more pain pills as well. I hope that the IV Chemo will help her some.

I am so sorry. I can't offer any advice, but I will make sure I pray for her. I hope it isn't. Good luck

Glad to know your Mom doesn't have a brain tumor.
Chemo may make a person feel very sick so the symptoms you noticed can all be related to chemo. Dehydration just makes it all worse. Hope the IV works better for her.
When I was at the 6 month point of my chemo therapy I felt like crap. After the chemo was stopped,at 6 mths,I finally started feeling better. The thing is, then your body has to recover from the chemo treatment and that takes a while too. I hope it will all work out for your Mom in the end.
