Me with Baron von Fresenius

« on: December 13, 2008, 03:11:52 PM »

I've been interested in aviation my whole life, but because of other medical conditions, I'm only able to fly a small ultralight airplane (basically a hang glider with a small engine and a seat). I haven't gotten one yet, but I'm hoping to be able to afford one in the future. So, while I save up the money to buy an ultralight, I am "addicted" to flight simulators. I almost always have a flight in progress, and my computer is nearly maxed out with all of the downloaded aircraft and scenery. Here are some  :pics; from my screen shot collection. The first one is downtown Indianapolis from a Maverick ultralight, similar to what I'll be getting when I can afford it. I have a pic very similar to this that I took from a real plane (single engine Beechcraft F33A) over Indianapolis. If I can find it, I'll post it here.

Yup, those are my (computer generated) feet. Most ultralights don't have much if any body surrounding the pilot. They usually do have seatbelts and shoulder harnesses. They are not ideal for someone who's afraid of heights. Here's some more pics.

Wow, Adam, I am really impressed.  I would love to be able to fly.  How's your dialysis going?

My oldest son's addiction is work and rebuilding or building from old parts trucks or cars and his latest effort is a motorcycle.  His boss and Ron are best friends and do this together.

This is my son's addiction. Len wants to fire it up and take it for a spin in our neighborhood.  :rofl;

Here are some pics of the beginning of my current flight. I'm flying an Air India 747 from Indianapolis to New Delhi, India. I just left, and it will be a LONG flight (good thing I can save my flights and come back to them later on the simulator).
