Goofynina and Epoman - Gone But Not Forgotten

WWW
« Reply #75 on: November 13, 2008, 10:10:25 AM »

i just want to scream and rage!  I'm sorry, but this hurts like anything.  Someone so alive, our resident redneck.  No fair!  This has been a hard week for me.  The same day as Flip, the longest dialysis patient here, Melvin, died.  he was my inspiration. He always boasted that for 10 years he never missed a session.  then I heard of Mikey's loss, and now this.
My sincere condolences to his family.  He will always be remembered with love by us.  His posts will remain to keep him alive in IHD.

I have an update for you all, regarding some questions you have:

Cujo and the cats will stay with Donna. Phil was getting ready to move, due to Donna's job relocating her, and she will continue to list the properties for the move. She is having a very difficult time and always speaks of the 6 wonderful years they had together.

For those who would like to contact Donna, her email address is  donnablock1846@aol.com

Thanks, Iruffner, for updating us.  It was such a pleasure meeting Flip and Donna in Chicago.  Having lived in Kentucky, my husband really enjoyed talking about basketball and horses with Flip.  Talking with Donna was like sitting with an old friend.  It was obviious what a good relationship they had together.  They were great people to spend time with.  I just knew we would meet up together again.  I feel so bad for Donna. Life seemed to be going in such a good direction for them.  It all is so very sad.    :'(

I was shocked when Okarol told me oer the phone that Flip passed away. I will miss his sense of humor, culinary art, and replies to post. I was fortunate enough to have met him and Donna at the IHD Chicago meet.

I never knew Flip personally, but I have enjoyed his posts over the year I've been here, and it's a crying damn shame that he will never post here again. Godspeed Philip Kelley Wilson, and my condolences to his Donna.  :cuddle;

In the short 8 months Flip was here, he made a big impact with his post. Still shocked he is gone. I have a bad track record, two people I know on IHD have passed away while I was always in the hospital.
RIP Flip and Goofynina

I also met Flip through another forum - he was really helpful to other people looking for answers. One woman commented on how he maintained his calm yet enthusiastic outlook. She never got a reply to her post because he was gone.

Wow, if I'd been Flip and knew I couldn't get transplanted, My outlook wouldn't be as positive as his was and I would have had stopped dialyzing but then again I'm a quitter, Flip wasn't.

I am very sorry to hear about Flip.  I am pretty new to this site since being diagnosed with stage 4 ckd two months ago.  I am not on dialysis.  At least not yet and I hope I can prolong it forever.  I am scared to death of it and of all of the related things that can possibly happen because of it.  I also know it has kept people alive for a long time.  Do all people on dialysis get cardiovascular disease and have problems with their heart?  I had read quite a few of Flip's posts, enjoyed them very much and have been looking for more posts from him.  He did seem like he knew an awful lot about this and was very helpful and inspiring to people.  He had such a positive and upbeat attitude and I was hoping to be able to speak to him more about that and learn from him.  Heaven has a new angel.
