While I was reading the sad news my husband was playing a beautiful tune on his harp guitar.  Some of you may know it - Gentle Annie - by Stephen Foster.  It's about losing a loved one.

Never hear thy winning voice again..."

My sincere sympathy to Flip's family.  May they know he is in a better place with no machines or needles (I hope).

My guess is Donna would take care of Cujo.

Sluff -- can you find out for sure?  I'm worried about Cujo -- I can't help Flip now, but I'm concerned for his buddy Cujo.

I have been sad all day and just reading this thread again brings me to tears. I think in some ways flip reminded me very much of the sort of person I try to be. Always positive... cracking a joke.. living and loving life and not letting the crap get him down or anything. I just feel so desperately sad that we have lost such a spark and wonderful person... even though I didn't know him or met him... he came through in his posts so much. Really on a downer here. I hope so much his pets get looked after.. he would want that.

I agree so much with all everyone especially RM said...to lose a friend is so difficult and the fact that we all have such good friends in each other and have never met is really special.  I think we all enjoyed flip so much because he was so positive about everything and everyone.  It's a sad sad time.

Wow.  I am totally at a loss for words here.  I originally "met" flip on another kidney disease web site.  I emailed him because his posts on that site really spoke to me.  He replied to my email and suggested I come here.  I will be forever thankful for his kindness and positive outlook that he gave all of us.  He sounded like he brought a lot of energy with him to his treatments, and I'm sure the staff their are really suffering this loss (he did do in-center dialysis, right?)  RIP flip(phil) and THANK YOU for all that you gave us.
