:cuddle; petey, sounds like everyone is pulling together for Walt. Thanks wonderful. I feel horrible for Walt's wife, this has got to be so hard for her. How great to make it an every Saturday thing for your family. We all will continue to keep your family in our thoughts and prayers. Give Marvin a big hug from me.  :grouphug;

I took pictures at the family supper last night (I'm never without my camera).  Here is a picture of Marvin, his sister, and three of his brothers.

(from left to right) -- seated is brother Ron, standing is sister, Marvin (blue Eagles jacket), Walt (red shirt), and brother Buddy.

The oldest brother couldn't be there.  Buddy is second oldest, then Walt, then Ron, then sister, then Baby Marvin (in order of birth).

I am sorry about this. Cancer is such a terrible disease and you and your family must be so worried.

Hi Petey, my prayers are with you and your family. Walt, I'm sure realizes how blessed he is to have so much family around. Sadly, I, and many others, have had someone close get cancer. Hope you have many Saturday family nights. God Bless

Great photo, Marvin is lovely (yes I did type that out loud  :rofl;)
So glad you are having a get together every week, that's one of the positive things about cancer - it sure makes you realise what/who is important in life.

God bless you all  :grouphug;

Petey,  tell Marvin we are all praying for his brother and the family.  Life is just so hard sometimes and I hate they are going through this.  When my husband's sister died last year, it felt so surreal.  There are still moments that we just can't believe she is gone.  How can life continue without missing a beat?  I will be saying lots of prayers for all of you   :cuddle;

Thank you all for the words of support, encouragement, and love.  We had "family night" last night again (making it a regular Saturday night thing).  There were about 15 of us there (four of the brothers, a couple of wives, a couple of nieces and nephews).  We had a good time and enjoyed the time together.  There were no tears -- only laughs, jokes, and memories.  Everybody just brought what they had planned to eat for their own suppers.

Walt said he wanted to ride to the beach today, so Marvin and I hatched this plan...we're doing treatment this morning, then this afternoon, we're taking Walt and his wife to the beach.  There's an adorable Christmas shop that I love to go to, and Walt's wife wants to go there with me (the men will sit on the big porch and rock while we're shopping).  Then, we're going to eat seafood.  We'll stop by to walk on the beach (if Walt feels up to it), and then we'll come back home.  We are all trying hard to spend good minutes with Walt and make sure he enjoys himself.  He goes back to the doctor this week to hear the "plan" the doctors have for him (surgery -- ?   or chemo/radiation).

petey, that sounds wonderful.  :waving; I know that Walt appreciates everyone and how great that your doing it every Saturday. You guy enjoy your beach trip and when your in that Christmas Shop, think about me for a minute. I love those places. I hope Walt walks on that beach and takes in the peace that the surroundings offer. Bless you and Marvin's hearts.  :cuddle;

Sounds like a terrific plan for the day.  I'll be walking on the treadmill at the gym in a little while but I'm going to pretend I'm walking on the beach with you all.  I hope Walt feels up to it.  :flower;

What a good time we had at the beach!  It was a sunny day (but with a cool nip in the air).  We talked, talked, talked -- and Walt's wife and I gosspied a little, too (though Walt and Marvin laughed at us).  Oh, willieandwinnie, you would have loved -- absolutely loved -- the Christmas shop we went to -- it had trees, trees, trees, and ornaments, ornaments, ornaments everywhere!  It really put me in the mood for Christmas.  I love that shop and could spend days in there looking at everything.  Walt and Marvin sat on the big porch at the shop and rocked (it was in the sun, so they didn't get cold) while we girls were shopping.  Then, we went to our favorite seafood restaurant and ate supper.  Walt ate the most I've seen him eat in a month!  Walt was getting tired, so we passed on the walk on the beach.  But, we enjoyed the ride home (more talking and laughing).  It was a fun time for all four of us.

I'm so pleased you had a good day, what wonderful memories you are storing, I hope Walt remains as good as this for a long time.

The Christmas shop sounds just what I need too, I feel less and less 'christmassy' each year - that sounds the place to renew the excitement and anticipation I used to feel when my boys were younger.  Now they are grown up and Barry is gone I just don't have the enthusiasm (although I do try).

Bless you all  :grouphug;

Oh petey, I'm so glad you had a wonderful day. Maybe Walt needs more outings like that, you could even do a picnic just to get him out and maybe it was the ocean air that helped his appetite. I would of loved that Christmas shop and you would of had to drag me out of there.  :beer1; Here's to many more precious moments with Walt.  :cuddle;
