Ever heard or tried these.
Since my secret santa person isnt giving up any hints this may be one of the items they recv.
They are very nice, they are candles but the wick is actulay made of wood. Wide and flat. And when the candle burns the wick actualy crackles like a wood fire.
Other then this i am at a loss as to what to get them :-(
What are some things you give that most people enjoy? please help me with some ideas..

paul.karen - If you are looking for bright ideas, if you look at you "giftee's" profile, there's an option to look at all the posts a person has put up. You can skim back thru all their posts and see if they have posted anything in the hobby post about what they like. Check the dog and cat posts to see if they have pets. There are posts about favorite foods, books, favorite Halloween candy, . . . you get the idea. It might help you pick out scents for candles, themes for cards, etc.
Just a thought!

I have a couple of the crackling wick candles both are pine & both are 10 oz & are made by Time & Again. They come in many different scents. I've never bought candles that have such an intense scent. They are really wonderful, you can even smell them when they are not even lit.
The drug store down the corner from me has them & their price for the 10 oz is 9.99 & the 3.4 oz is 5.99 & the votives are 1.99 You wouldn't think a small drug store would have these because I haven't found them in other stores.
The only other place I've found them is on the internet & eBay. If you go to google.com & enter Time & Again crackling wick candles they show up. The problem is on eBay the asking price on one of the auctions I checked is 10.50 for the 3.4 oz. & 7.60 shipping. Yikes.
They also come with plain wicks. They are made in Canada.

I saw these yesterday for the first time at the Navy Exchange. They didn't have many to choose from so I decided to wait until they got more in to try one. Sounds great.

I bought several woodwock candles to give out as gifts last year. I love the sound of the crackling wood as they burn. However, I must admit that I was really disappointed in their scents. I actually prefer the scents in the Yankee Candles. Now, if Yankee could put a woodwick in, I'd be a very happy camper.

cherpep, take a sniff of the pine, it's my favorite, very strong & smells great a Christmas time. The Yankee Cranberry Candle is one of my favorites.
Was at Cracker Barrell a few weeks ago, didn't see them, but wasn't looking at candles. Will check them out next time I go.

mcjane - that's pretty funny! The pine was the only one I really liked. The others had great descriptions (I ordered them off the web), but when I got them, they were too musky or smelled too much like perfume. I agree with you - the pine was nice. I love clean, fresh scents, so the pine definitely fit that bill. I love Yankee's Linen scented candle, or their Christmas Memories, or their new Autumn Wreath this year. Mmmmmmmmmm. I burn a candle every night while doing dialysis. It makes me feel cozy and comforted.

Twirl are you asking or stating if they smell good?? I have purchased many and they do smell good. To me at least. Trust me if i didnt like the smell i wouldnt pay the small fortune they charge for them. Clean linen and vanilla are two of my favs. But differnt strokes for differnt folks. Yankees are nice as well. Though i cant say they smell stronger?? Nor last as long.... Just my

That's pretty funny. You're right - different strokes for different folks. I personally did not like Woodwick's Linen scented candle, that was one that reminded me of perfume. With the Yankee's, I always buy the jarred candles. As long as I replace the lid after burning, the scent lasts quite a while for me. I can smell it throughout the house whenever I burn them.
