I guess I should be on here too since I have been on nocturnal now for three weeks, and have only gotten about 3 hours of sleep each night too.  I do it myself here at home and it always starts offf fine but usually around 3:00 am the alarms start ringing, and ringing and ringing, venous pressure, arterial pressure TMP limits, you name it they go off.  I still usually get 7  hours in so yes I so feel better but the lack of sleep is killing me as I go to school for 8 in the morning.   I go to the unit next week for 3 days of training on the single needle and the change on my machine, I use the Fresenous 2000 K @ Home and they will be adding another pump to it for the single needle process.

Wish me luck because I sure as hell need it.

I didn't know they still had the single needle.  I used it 20 years ago and didn't like it.  It would jerk back and forth.  But, I hope they have improved it.

Please let us know how it goes.             :waving;

Do you know what is causing the alarms???  Are you lying on your line and kinking it off.  Hubby's machine used to alarm a lot in the night first when he stared because he would fall asleep and lie on the lines.  He started taping the lines together and the machine rarely alarms during the night now.  He tapes the lines together in a couple of differet places that way the lines don't kink off as easily.  If you want a pic of the way he tapes his lines pm me and I will send you one!!

Flow rates are fairly low on the single needle setups so you may have to increase your time.

Flip -- I can do anywhere from 6 to 9 hours, so it won't be an issue.

I talked to my nurses today and they think the main problem I  am having is that I am going too dry, they told me to raise my dry weight by 1.5 kilo's.

So hopefully I will get some sleep
  God knows I need it, I am burt the hell out!
