Hop-Sing (my 6-year-old Pug/Peke mix and my only "baby") wishes all of you and all of your four-legged friends a Happy Halloween!

This year, Hop-Sing is dressing up as Dracula!!  Look at him in his costume -- are you scared?  He also loved the pumpkin toy he got last night.  Remember, friends, NO chocolate for dogs!  But, Hop-Sing loves a nibble of other types of candy (no gum -- it makes a mess and I have a time getting it out of my carpet and Hop-Sing's teeth!)

petey, that is too cute.  :bandance; He is just adorable in his little outfit. Willie or Winnie, either one like to wear things, I have sweaters and they just freeze in place when I try to put them on. At Christmas I try to put bows in their little top knots and they both paw at them until they get it undone. Is Hop-Sing going to hand out candy on Halloween? Our puppies don't like jelly beans too much and I hate plucking it out of their teeth and fur.  :rofl;

petey, I had to show Len Hop-Sing and he said Hop-Sing is a real cutie.  :cuddle;

It's a struggle to get Hop-Sing's "clothes" on him (he has a couple of sweaters, a parka, a rain slicker, and a couple of pairs of pajamas).  He doesn't like getting dressed -- especially putting something over his head, but he does sometimes sleep in the pajamas all night -- most of the other stuff comes off quickly!  For his Halloween pictures, I bribed him with a piece of cheese -- works every time!!  The costume stayed on long enough for me to snap a few pictures, and then it was, "Okay, get this off and give me the cheese!"

Hop-Sing loves jelly beans (except the black ones).  However, when he eats them, he slobbers an usually lot.  Why is that?  His favorite candies are sugar-coated orange slices and those marshmallow "peeps."  I think the sugar hypes him up, so I don't give him much at one time.

Hop-Sing can't give out Halloween candy -- the doorbell sets him off ("Woofing" like there's no tomorrow and he's going to viciously attack whoever is on the other side of the door) but children in costumes scare him so then he runs and hides under the bed!

What would we do without our doggies?  I say this as my 4 year old collie is still upstairs asleep - he wakes up way after we do.  The cutest thing sleeping in his bed...love my dog!  Don't know how to post a picture yet or I would...some day...he looks just like Lassie...

Just luv the Dracula outfit, Petey!

Here is what we used to do in our other
house for Trick 'R Treat -  we got an awful
awful lot of kids coming for candy and the
dogs drove us nuts with trying to open the
front door -  we put our baby gate in the front
door, in FRONT of the big door- when you open
it for the kids  there is no worrying about the
four legged ones trying to run out.  If you have a
storm door just put it between that and the
main door -  after we did this I swear every house
in our nieghborhood with a pet had one up-
made our lives so much easier!\

I can't believe how much Hop-Sing's snout and my nose look alike.  I have a "button ski-jump" nose, as someone described it once and I'd say Hop Sing does too.  As a kid I used to try and pull the tip of mine down to be straighter.  I'm quite sure HS was never nearly so silly.

Give my cousin HS a big kiss from me.

Mine has a definite slope to an up-turned point, it's where teeny tiny fairies go skiing and it's very tickly.  Now if only my nephew Alex were here, he could photoshop exchange our noses and you'd see the family connection instantly Twirl.   :rofl;

monrein,
If you think you and Hop-Sing have similar-looking noses, then I'd say you're one lucky girl!  Hop-Sing, to me, is simply adorable.  He's absolutely perfect!  He's the second best-looking creature on this earth (Marvin, of course, is #1).  So, I guess that means you now tie with Hop-Sing for second place.

However, I think you favor Hop-Sing in other ways (other than looks).  Hop-Sing is THE sweetest, most humble, loving soul I've ever known (he tops Marvin in this category).  There's not a mean bone in his body, and all he lives for is to love and be loved.  He's a gentle, happy, warm being, and everyone who meets him falls in love with him (except those two cats he bit).  Maybe this is how you favor Hop-Sing the most.

Thanks Petey for comparing me so favourably with Hop Sing.  I haven't bitten any cats yet but there's still time...Halloween is almost here for example.    :cuddle;

Hop-Sing's a boy.  I don't think he'd like to be a ballerina -- Aggie football player, maybe.

At the clinic where Marvin was in-center for over 12 years, they always had costume contests at Halloween.  Marvin went every year as a "dialysis patient."
