Nope!!!  It's the name for wool socks. The socks are knit from real sheeps wool. You wear them over your regular socks to keep your feet warm in the winter.  They only come a few inches above your ankle.  They would be too itchy to wear with out regular socks inside them!!!

definitely a different world up North...... I always though a humbug was a lolly/candy... but I'm sure that's wrong in your context lol

Is it the same as "clarified" butter or Indian ghee?  The milk solids are separated from the clear butter.    I bet you dip lobsters in that.  Mmm.

Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr.  2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

Actually monrein drawn butter does have butter in it. You melt butter , add chopped onions and cook until the onions are clear. Add flour (usually about half a cup) and salt and pepper. remove from heat and add about 1/2 cup of water.  stir. Return to heat and add more water until the sauce is the thickness that you want. it is delious served over fish and boiled potatoes. I had some for supper actually!!!   very similar to a white sauce only you use watr instead of milk.
