Tyny...I'm sorry for you...I also miss my parents...I was attached to my dad's hip for years..his son he didn't have first but do miss my mom as well.  Mom does visit me more...I know because when she is here there is an instant "strong" smell of yeast dough...I say she dumped it on me, it is so very strong (she always baked) and I have many "dreams" of doing things with both of them so we must be visiting...that is so comforting to me...sorry, off track here.  I was just telling my GDtr today that I wish I had written down some of my grandmothers recipies, some so very good but all they were was a handful of this, pinch of that etc, so she writes down recipies I tell her.

Diagnosed with ESRD-November 2006
I have had 2 fistuals-neither one worked
I have had 2 grafts the last one finally "took"
I had 3 different catheters from Nov. 06 - Dec. 08
Got on the transplant list - Halloween Day 2008

You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who they think can do nothing for them.    I BELIEVE THIS TO BE SOOOOO TRUE!

Yeast dough is also a smell that reminds me of my Mother.  But I don't just smell it randomly.  However, a few weeks after she passed we had to do the ritual of cleaning out her house and selling off furniture and stuff (hated it), I went in my guestroom where she stayed following her brain surgery just before she passed and I was hit with the strong smell of Shalimar (her perfume).  By the time my husband came in the room the smell was gone.   I said "Hello.  I miss you terribly."

Kelly..what a nice memory.  Sometimes I smell the Pacquins (sp) lotion my mother used to use when I was about 5 and I actually checked in some stores and can't find it any more and the smell was just at home.
