I bought a bag of mini candy bars two weeks ago.  I finally gave up and left them all at work because I couldn't stay out of them at home!

Well, the little Snicker bars are all gone.  All that's left are little bags of Skittles and Starbursts.  Oh, and TONS of gum.  I'll try to stick with the gum...

Come on Halloween!!!!!!!!!!

If we're going to be home I get the candy the day of Halloween.  Any leftovers I give away the next day.  I have very good will power but I'm not a fan of torture, nor am I a masochist.

I have no excuse to buy candy, we won't be home (having a surprise 40th bday party for Rob).  Our town is having Halloween this Saturday, how stupid is that?!?  :banghead;  They usually have it the Friday before Halloween, so we thought ok, it's going to be on Halloween for once.  Nope, they think it's perfectly fine to have it a week before.  Crazy!  Thankfully, we have lots of back-up plans, my MIL's house on the 30th and my sister's house on Halloween.  Still though, isn't that crazy?

Oh by the way, we have still bought candy, bad us!

Paul,

I sooooo wish I could have and SHOULD have learned to make my Mama's biscuits-n-gravy!!!

By the way, we were so close, we had "pet names" for one another, I was her "Miss" and she was my, "Miss".  We even have "Miss" at her feet as on her foot stone.

Kelly,  I can soooo relate about missing her so much while going through the transplant ordeal without her.   I cry everytime I have to have ANY procedure/surgery because I wish so much, she was just there, not to even say anything, just to be there, just to have her look at me and with her eyes let me know everything will be OK!     I also noticed you said, "physically"because I too, know she is with me from "afar".    WHEW!  This topic is getting really mushy but thanks to my IHD family for allowing me to talk about my "Miss".   :grouphug;

I sure will, Paul.  Actually, I bought the stuff to make it this week.  It's one of the things I'm going to make and freeze before transplant. That way my husband just has to boil the noodles and heat the sauce!  I'll send it in the next day or so!

TinyWonder,  :grouphug;    I'm hoping during my surgery when I'm "under" that I will have a vivid "visit" with her and my Father!

Not so much my Mother, but I've had a few "visits" from Dad.  Very vivid.

Do you ever watch John Edwards "Crossing Over" or whatever his show is called now (I can't remember)?  I think he's on Oxygen or We Channel.

Anyway, my Mother passed in March 2006 and my husband and I were able to get tickets to see him in San Antonio in June 2006 and we were read!  She came through!  Most of the reading was awesome, but some was not real clear to me.  My husband's Father also "came through".  That was a great experience!  I look for her everyday!

Epoman actually passed one year to the day of my Mother's passing (March 2nd).  I like to think that he told her about this site and I was directed here by her.  :)

I have not watched that show yet but I have seen the commercials.   I have been to several "readings" and not a one of them said anything even remotely to do with my future.  I know that is not the same type of readings you are talking about, but because of my disappointing experiences with them, I have since been leery.   Like for instance, all of the ones I had, (i have had 4) none of them ever mentioned my kidneys eventually failing, nothing about my health??????    Wouldn't that make you leery of them too?   How much were his tickets, by the way?   I have often wondered if I were to go to one of the readings concerning my Miss, would they mention just that, our pet names?  Now, if they were to do *that*, then I would leave a little more convinced, ya know?   Thanks for sharing your experiences with me.   I have dreamed about my Miss a couple of times and they are bittersweet, ya know?   One more thing, my Miss passed away in March (the 28th) as well but she died in 2001.  I don't mention my "Father" because I don't really know him..........and don't care too really!    *shrugs*

Totally understand, Tiny.   John Edwards doesn't do "future tellings", though.  I think he's brought things up for other guests that were future related, but not us.  He hit more on the head than he missed.  When my brothers and other family saw the show they were able to pick up on some of the things I wasn't, but everyone (including my extremely pessimistic brother) felt really good about the reading.  He left us all believing.  My Mother was a true believer, as well!
