Why do I do that?

I eat my french fries by size? Why?

What are the odd things YOU do that make you or other people ask why?

I think if I am real happy; something bad will happen

How can you eat a sliced tomato in a biscuit? You could put one on it but how can you put one in it, it's a single object. There's no way you can get anything in it or was 'in it' a spelling error when you meant 'on it'

American 'biscuit' is  like a scone, you can slice it and put things in it, if you want.  British 'biscuit' is American 'cracker'.

I eat foods on a plate one at a time....all of one, then the next but enjoy stews and soups...go figure.

I never noticed it until someone brought it up, but I look at magazines from back to front the first time I pick them up.  If I've seen them before I'll start at the beginning.

I did that in HS but stopped once dad figured it out and if I got a new book I would see that the last 10 pages were carefully missing and wouldn't appear until I was close to the end....so I had to read the correct way...don't do that any more.

When I'm in a car I will do this really wierd thing with poles and such.  I don't count them, but I tap my toes alternately with each pole.  Right, Left, Right, Left.  It's maddening to me!  No one else knows I do it.  I've tried to stop and if I think about it I won't do it.  But then I'll find myself doing the same think with my teeth!  Biting down on the right, then left alternating with every passing pole!   AAAARRRGGGGG!!!!!  I can't stop doing it!!

I think everyone is a little bit OCD.  We all have little things that we do like that.

I can tolerate just about any kind of mess in the house - except dirty socks on the floor.  Drives me buggy!

When I eat food I tend to have the things I like least first with the thought (I guess) that the lasting impression of the food will be of the nicest parts, so I'll leave happier... plus I guess I like to get pain over and done with ASAP rather than drag it out until I can't refuse it any longer. Guess that's a psychological thing.

I think I understand now. A biscuit in the UK is called a cookie in America so your biscuits must be something intirely different. Are they made of pastry or something like that?

Ken, they're closer to a scone than an English biscuit.  Here's a link with photos and some recipes.  In Canada we call them tea biscuits.

You did really good at finding a biscuit!   That was a great idea!     Something funny............when I first read Twirls post about how you cannot put a slice of tomato "in" a biscuit, I was like WWWWHHHAAAATTTTT??      I did not realize that there really are people who would not know what a biscuit really is!    Me being from the south grew up eating those things!   I think they are the "bestest".   I love me some sausage gravy-n-biscuits?    Do some people not know what sausage gravy is neither?    Just asking is all..............

Tyny, I know about these foods because of endless food curiosity but I have to say that I don't like the sausage gravy thing, only because of the fat and calories.  I love eating so if I weren't careful about the fat, I'd be huge, especially post transplant with prednisone.  My Dad was from the southern US originally and he was a great cook so he made these things when we were kids but mostly we liked Jamaican foods better.  He loved grits and would try to tempt us but we wanted leftover breadfruit instead.  Food is so much about what you grew up with.

My grandfather was British and we found all the foods he liked to be way too bland.  He found Jamaican food weird so as kids we'd dump hot sauce all over the dull stuff and he'd be so astonished that we could handle it so spicy.

I'm right handed.  So there's no excuse for me.

My biscuits are only like scones if I over cook them!   I like soft and flakey biscuits with butter and grape jam!   Oh, and sausage gravy is amazing (depending on where you get it).

For Americans 'cookies' are what we would call 'sweet biscuits' in my country, and 'crackers' are the white (or whole wheat) ones with little sugar.

Thank you Twirl Kitkatz and Monrein and Bajanne for your explanation. I thought I knew all the differences in names that we have for the same things both here and across the pond but I didn't know that. Maybe we should start a thread where we name something and someone has to reply with the equivalent name either British American Canadian or Aussie. For instance do you know what baby's diapers are called in the UK?This question is for non Brits only.
