Be honest! Just curiously , most I've brought in was 6k , and this was because I went to my Irish Family Reunion , and we "celebrated" a whole weekend.

I am not sure I ever had a 6 although I put that down, but certainly a 5+.   I am at dialysis now, and I came in with 1kg on. :yahoo; :yahoo;

I don't come in with more than a kilo either with my 2 days off on the weekend.  1 kilo would be my max.  Day to day I come in with .3 up to a max of .5.

I'm trying to spare my heart for the long haul.

I usually don't have more than a kilo because I do daily dialysis, but when I was in-centre, I usually had two to three on, and after my two days off, sometimes I had as much as 4.5 to 5.

Tried to take 2.8 off today and crashed after 1 1/2 hours.  Wasn't even trying to hit my dry weight!

Most was 4 kg after a weekend away with my wife. Yesterday I came in with 2.9 kg and they took off 3.2 kg ( I didn't ate my dessert). BTW do you count the weight of food or drinks you're having during dialysis? In that case they took 4.7 kg.

At my unit , some of the technicians (the friendlier ones) will count the fluid I'm drinking DURING dialysis, example... if i bring in a 12 ounce fluid of water, they'll add it to the weight and put down 1 kilo extra, or if i brought too much in , they'll put .500 extra.  Some times they'll say weigh myself with the drink.  They're pretty good about it all. Of course they say what your drinking that day isn't absorbed till next day , so sometimes its a futile loss. As for food ,  I never count it because i still poop ;-)

I remove the weight gain  (compared to my best estimate of my dry weight on) + .400 for rinseback + .600 for what I drink during the session.

ROTF!!! I'm gonna tell that to the nurses this evening!

On topic, I'm doing a 44 h urine collection this moment, as ordered by my neph. Last time, some 6 months ago, it showed I still had quite a good kidney function and could urinate well enough, but this time it seems less (1400 cc for 2.5 liter fluids over 44 h). Could it have to do with the fact they took me down 0.500 kg below my dry weight last monday? I felt dehydrated after dialysis and drank soup and thee just to feel normal again.

I took off 4.5 Tuesday, and had no issues.  When I started dialysis in the hospital, they took 7 kg off the first few times.  When I went back to work three weeks later, I was 70 pounds lighter (to around 200 pounds).  We jokingly refer to it as my spa vacation.  People at work wanted to know my weight loss secret, and I tell them it is not something I would advise following.
