As we progress I will post pictures of her with her working gear on and her boots. Last night I got sick (luckily no trip to ER) and class outing wore me out and I slept at the city center location for a long time and then once again for a long time at the campus in my room missing lecture, class, and boot hand out and training. I will make that up Sunday while the other dogs get to play together to let some steam off.

Much better experience than first guide dog school.

Chris, Whitely is so adorable.

Today we popped to the animal shelter and were chosen by a kitten to be his new mummy and daddy.  He's eleven weeks old and we've renamed him Qyzen (the Qytten).  He's VERY like Mog in his personality, which is a tad spooky and Dora isn't too sure what to make of him yet (although she found his kitten food to be quite tasty, the cheeky mare!)  We half expected Mog to choose this day to come home and be waiting for us on the doorstep, but he didn't. Bless him.

Please excuse the unironed clothes hanging in the first picture ...  ;D

My neighbors have given their collie a new squeaky toy today.  He's been at it for at least 30 minutes now.  Eeek, squeak, eeek, squeak.  It's really loud.  My cats are going insane!

We lost our beloved Aslan yesterday. He went quietly from our loving arms into his next life at the vet's office.  The vet was very kind to all of us.  There were five of us.  Vitito (Little Victor) had come from Sacramento. He was Aslan's original owner. we have been his caretakers for years now.  He and Vickie came down to see him and made the decision to let him go.  He was not himself and has not been well the last two days.  We had time to visit with him and say goodbye before and after the injection.  I miss his company on my desk, his purring us to sleep at night and his royal highnesses company.  He was a cool cat.Everyone at the vet's office called him Mr. Congeniality.

KitKatz- sorry for your loss.  He looked like a very loving cat.  I know how hard it can be to have to make that decision.  I had to do the same about 3 years ago for one of the cats I adopted when he showed up on my doorstep 8 years earlier.  It was probably one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make and one of the longest trips I have had to take.

It is difficult to remember the cat is gone especially when we do not have him up on the bed purring at us nightly.

New stupid pet trick....

I had to sew my new curtains together, all 95 inches of them.  I had the two pieces flipped across my work table, which is one of those tall, pub-height ones.  Even then, the material is so long it dangles over both ends of the tall table.  The cats, of course, think the table is a kitty perch.  So I'm sliding the material and Murphy along the table, pinning as I go.  I got to the end, and realized half of what I had just pinned wasn't pinned anymore.  Murphy had been reaching over one by one and delicately removing the pins, and putting them back down right behind me.   ::)
