New pet pictures! Yea!!   Lady Bird and Yogi are too cute. Yogi looks like he is ready for a dip in the pool.  Good to see Twirls babies!

Tallon, great cat pictures. Your cats are fortunate to have such a good home.  7?!   Lots of love, snuggling, purring going on in your house.  :2thumbsup;

Dougal managed (God knows how!) to dislocate his kneecap in the back garden this evening...

Did the vet say whether it was a typical dislocation, or whether your dog has luxating patella? What breed is he? Som dogs (such as bull terriers) are prone to luxating patella, in which case the knee can continue to pop out and can be "clicked" back in - the ball-and-socket joint is basically a poor fit. Dogs can live with this comfortably (like my Dorothy does) or, in other circumstances, surgery is required. In bad cases, that surgery may even need to be repeated.

Here's a photo I love of my niece and her dog Lucy (short for Lucifer).  She's half husky and half greyhound (they think so at any rate).  She has pale blue husky eyes and runs like the wind if she's in the mood.   She was brought in to be put down, with a terribly mangled leg from a car accident but my brother couldn't do it so, several hours of surgery later and a good period of rest she's in good shape.  She doesn't sleep with Syd but she often sleeps on the ground beside her with her head on a pillow.
On the wall is a portrait of their last dog, Casey Jane, a chocolate lab who was given to them by a breeder because she had a heart defect that might have required surgery but never did.

AWWWWWW!  Thanks for the photos, Alene!  Glad to see Harry looking so good and enjoying some time with his friends!   :cuddle;

You deserve a great deal of credit for the excellent care you provided to Harry!   :clap;

Whoever you are - what have you done to David13!!!!  We know you're actually an alien or something, cos he NEVER speaks in sentences...

David was always worried about our pets and especially Harry.   :cuddle;

took emma to Petco for her shot today, they do a rabies shot clinic, anyway, I should have brought a camera, it looked ike a rottie convention, there were about eight of them waiting online with their parents.  from forty pound puppies to one hundred plus pound adult dogs.  My little Jack Russel thought she could lead the pack, she wanted to get into playing with these large dogs, it was hysterical.  (Emma is 12 pounds!)

I found out the other day that my cat Charlie had a stroke and was put down. I posted a picture of him back in November of '07. He was my black and white tuxedo kitten I had saved along with the snowshoe siamese. They both had Distemper when they were born and when i was working at the vet, i had also been helping a friend with her orphan kitten rescue. I took these 2 home to try ttoo save them, grew so attached and ended up keeping them. I don't know if anyone remembers me saying my Mom took them when I moved out of state, but she's the one who saw Charlie come out from under her bed, dragging his back end the other morning. The vet said he had a stroke and it was because of the distemper he had as a kitten. I miss him so much. He was such a snuggly cat and such a sweetheart! My other resce cat, Blue, may be at risk of having a stroke too!! I just lost my Lab, Paddington (and my baby boy!!!) recently, and now this! My Mom got Paddington's ashes back in a  beautiful box, along with a lovely note from the vet and his collar. I have those on my bookshelf in the dinigroom now. My step dad decided to get Charlie's ashes too, so I can have those as well. My husband said the diningroom is going to start looking like a mausoleum soon! Sigh.

Sorry to hear paddbear. Everytime I think of urns though, I think of the scene of the cat and ashes from Meet The Parents.

Cute pup there Rerun.

I never know if we will get a new pet, my dad keeps changing his mind and not holding my breath, so I now make sarcastic remarks everytime he thinks about a new pet.

I named her Ti a.  Mostly it is "Tia-no"!~

Any suggestions on potty training?  It has been 20 years since I've had a puppy!  My other 2 I adopted at age 6 and 7!  I have the new blue pee pads.  She just wants to tear them up.  I take her outside with Pebbles and Pebbles does her thing and Tia runs around and then comes in the house and pees.

Love her though.  She is a ball of energy and then she will get and my lap and just go limp and fall asleep.

Rerun, possible solutions for the 'tearing up the pee pads' problem:

1. They now make a litter box for "dogs" called Second Nature (available at Pet Supermarket and maybe Petco). I use it for Harry (my mobility impaired cat) because it is spacious and has a low side for easy entrance. I use it with "Yesterday's News" litter which would probably be puppy-friendly. It is pelletized.

2. Have you tried putting the pee-pee pads in a frame?

Can't help anymore than that, my family has a demonstrated inability to potty train dogs. Thank God they are all little and live elsewhere.
 :rofl;

She is a cutie... the chokehold... is that one of those "Tia-no"! things?  :o just kidding!!!

Dr. Harris   :2thumbsup;

what can I do about Lady Bird? she does not poop in the house but she pees -
she leaks pee when she is happy and just pees in the house--
she will come in from outside and into the house and pee -
she sleeps in a bathroom at night and she pees there but not does not poop -
she was born in May and does not have long to live --
I tried pee pads and she ignores them -
she is the most playful pup I have ever had - her heart is bad but you would not know it if you saw her playing -- she drives Yogi crazy with her energy
thanks, doc

Pampers are best. Harry looked so cute in them, even cuter when he was sitting next to them.

  Rerun....  my two sib huskies took 2 months to potty train.... I kept them in my kitchen which I board up and just kept taking them out side and I kept telling them potty.... and plus I would give them a treat when we went out side to go potty....  I did this several times a day.....  when they potty on the kitchen floor I would never say anything to them....  this was at the beginning....  later  say a couple of weeks  I would keep the treat from them when I took them outside and would keep telling them potty and if they did do    right then I would give them a treat....   treat being something very special.......  Your dog will probably be easier to train.... they are a smart breed.... some breeds take long than other.... Sib huskies    while they are beautiful dogs   take alot more training on everything  except running away..... they got that one down form the beginning........ Good luck....

Those puppy pads are a waste and do not know anyone who has had luck with them not getting chewed. I tried those and newspapers and all my pup did was chew them up. Without mother imprinting on what the pup should do, I'm lost on training. But find it best to take them out each day at the same time to get them on a schedule.
