Funny you should say that about his ears and feet, my hubbie has been saying the same thing since we got him, and I thought he was over reacting.

Oh no, definitely not an over reaction! Try to make his "grooming" sessions as fun as possible, so he associates being handled/brushed with good times. How? Use treats and praise and play. Whenever he's cooperative, even for a couple of seconds, get iin there QUICK (as in within a second!) and treat him/praise him excessively.
