No, it's more like the rat family - a rodent - called "desert rats" - cute but my cats would go nuts - thanks anyway twirl.
I don't have a dog but I want one. I have 4 desert tortoises and my brother just called. He found another one wandering through his yard so soon I will have 5.  :urcrazy;

I got mail!  :bandance; :bandance; :bandance; Thank you Secret Santa! I don't think it's a gerbil, but I guess I'll have to wait until Christmas to know for sure.

My gerbil's name was Wanda-mouse. I snuck her into my college dorm room and she lived in my closet. No pets were allowed. I used to let her loose to run around the room for exercise. Luckily, I had a very understanding roommate.

In my first year of university, my roomate and I bought a pair of gerbils.  We named them Pyramus and Thisbe (after the star-crossed lovers in A Midsummer Night's Dream) and they were  very cute.  We also let them run free all around our room.  Until the day I was laying on my bed, reading, and Thisbe scurried over to me, I petted her a bit and when I stopped she ran up my and bit me quite hard on the end of my nose.  I flung her across the room, not hard enough to hurt her and took them both in to a Pet Shop that afternoon to be given away free to a good home.  I did say that if noone wanted them the shop should let me know because we didn't want them killed.  They found them a home.

Still waiting for my secret santa and to hear when mine arrives.  I mailed it on Saturday past.

I forgot to post that mine has been sent.   Also, the contents are wrapped individually so when my package arrives, you can open it without opening the gifts  :clap;       :santahat; :christmastree;  :rudolph;   My granddaughter, Paxton (5), was helping me with wrapping paper and ribbons, so you can imagine how the presents look!
