Hello everyone!!

I hope this post is finding you all well.  I just sent my info to okarol so I can be included in the Secret Santa fun!!

I've never participated in a Secret Santa program by mail before. So, I am wondering when packages should be mailed?  Are we shooting for as close as you can get, right before Christmas delivery. Or is it OK if I shoot for a week or two before Christmas delivery date?

Thanks for the info!!

Kelly  :clap;

edited for spelling error

Gifts must be mailed out NO LATER THAN November 21st, and sooner if you are sending overseas. This what Okarol posted first thing on this thread.  That way packages avoid the Christmas rush slump the post office has.

You're just not supposed to ADMIT to opening it before Christmas!

That reminds me..... I was a terrible snoop as a child. For me, Christmas was really the time that led up to the great unwrapping when I'd take advantage of every opportunity to carefully unwrap my gifts to see what they were, then re-wrap them to avoid being caught. I thought of myself as a master snoop. I loved the glossy kind of paper. It was easy to pull the tape from that kind of paper without tearing the paper. In re-wrapping them, ya had to be very careful to make sure the folds all ended up in the same place as they were originally. I thought of it as a challenge.

Then my parents started to number our gifts instead of putting our names on them, in a lame attempt to thwart my efforts. Um...... There were only four of us kids. It only took a couple of extra minutes to figure out which number was mine. I almost always managed to locate the pre-wrapped presents, too. Mom usually hid them under their bed, sometimes in the basement (sorry Dad -- I found your Playboys there!). Sometimes in the attic. In later years, they did get a bit more creative and there were some that I didn't manage to find in advance. grrrrrr! I suspect Mom had a friend store them for her. Ahhh the memories!

DEANNE, you shock me!!!  Seriously I thought I was the only one who did this as a kid.  I got caught because I ate one of my gifts (chocolates) before Christmas day  and my Mum got wise after that I think.  It was from one of my school friends so I figured Mum wouldn't notice.  She did notice and I tried to blame one of the dogs but although I was a good sneak I was a lousy liar.

So whoever sends your gift might have to send it to a neighbour.   :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;

I'm in!!! I had so much fun participating last year.  Once again I'm organizing the exchange on another board I belong to so cannot participate unless someone flakes.  I'm glad I belong to a few other boards that do it as well!

My likes...cooking and horses (but not cooking horses!).  I'm really not picky though... ;D

Okarol, when will we get the name of our "secret" friend?  I'm ready to do some shopping, and I need to know who to shop for!!

P.S. I hope Sluff gets my name so I can get that puppy he posted the picture of.  But, then if Sluff sends me that puppy, Marvin will not be happy (he says Hop-Sing is a one-dog-in-the-family kind of dog).  Let's not tell Marvin or Hop-Sing...
